well outside it's not really a reference, it's the cover of an artbook of FF14 showing different jobs weapon, exept the white mage one, all the other jobs are present (even the ninja one).

the question remain, why put a weapon non existant in the game on a cover of an artbook. indeed it can be sketch for something, but it will have no ended on the cover but inside. here it's the front of the book, the first thing people will see, it's a weird choice, no?

don't get me wrong i don't say that redmage is coming next, simply that this cover is too much weird for not point this details.

ps: at the base some element of FF11 was reused directly into the game, the good exemple at the goblin:

even the race are inspired by FF11... references are already present. but here it's not something like this.
