Endless debate pretty sure but in what situation would you lose auto attacks using Legacy and no lock-on? My MNK auto attack damage contributes to about 30%~ total damage, with or without Legacy and no lock-on.
Could go further into detail and count autoattacks done on whatever encounter but yea, curious when you'd lose auto attacks while using Legacy/no lock-on.

If you don't lock on, Legacy makes your character turn in order to move left or right instead of strafing. If your character turns far enough that they're no longer facing the target, you lose AA.

Fair enough, I don't have "Move Left / Turn Left " and "Move Right / Turn Right" bound for ages now and just use "Strafe Left" and "Strafe Right" on A and D, totally forgot about it and just realized that after checking. I guess that's why I never noticed a difference.

This is the way to do it. FTW! You can simply strafe and still be facing your target and not miss those AA's

I was just giving general advice for the different control options. This is why I said control type is really personal preference. I don't use Legacy or lock-on myself because I only strafe as well so I never lose auto attacks unless that's what I need to do for a mechanic.
