I like the goblet. I just wish houses had alternate options to how they're structured inside. I would like a house open in the center, so I could make something like this!

Saying it looks good or bad is subjective, however you cannot say the same about it being the least preferred housing area, perhaps it's because it doesn't appeal most people. I, like many others, got a house here after this patch, but that was only because of the price and availability, in my server all small lands in the old wards of Mist and Lavender Beds were taken.
I understand that some people like the current design, but this is a housing area with 8, soon to be 16 wards, they weren't meant for "some people". I honestly wish they did more small changes (nothing too drastic) to attract more players.
Also
I agree fully with you, the ward 1 of our Goblet is full and it looks a lot better than the emptier wards, Mist and Lavender Beds have a really good scenery while houses are a complement, for the Goblet the houses are the main attraction and the scenery is a complement.I think the Goblet is great. I think the main problem with the Goblet that people run into is that more so than the other wards, it really is -designed- to be looked at when full of houses. Lavender Beds and Mist both draw your eye outwards, towards the sea or forest/lake. The Goblet draws your eye -in-, much like a goblet actually holds water. If there is nothing but empty plots around you, then yeah it is not very striking. But when it is full, it looks pretty damn cool.

I had a look on my server yesterday.
Mists was full. Lavender had some slots but couldnt find 3 neighboring houses for me and my mates.
Goblet , some wards had enough houses to host my FC members if I wanted.
The stats speak for themselves
i actually wanted my fc house to be in the goblet, but the person who helped pay wanted a house by the beach in mist, so i settled
The Goblet looks cool enough with lots of houses around you, like some people has mentioned, but because my FC's house is just under a waterfall is pretty noisy in our garden, so that is like the only thing I dislike about it xD I would say that the bigger houses at the corners are the ones with the best views.
Goblet could still stand to be a lot more beautiful/interesting. More falls, palms, waterfalls, a more oasis-type feel.
Please SE.
The goblet does have its own charm, maybe not during the day so much, but I do find it stunning during the night.

The fix in that situation would be to remove the idiotic race limitation, rather than redesigning Roegadyn. Similarly, the fix in this situation is to make the housing system not unbelievably short-sighted. Especially since redesigning the Goblet so that it's attractive to a larger percentage of the population would just exacerbate the problem with limited housing space, while pissing off those who like the Goblet now. This is not a fair comparison by any means. Races don't have limited slots on what race can and cannot be played. Because seriously if for instance someone wanted to play a Mi'qote but couldn't be played and was forced to play a Roe. I'm pretty sure they'd have a lot more complaining than "Guys the Goblet is kind of ugly."

"Especially since redesigning the Goblet so that it's attractive to a larger percentage of the population would just exacerbate the problem with limited housing space" - keeping the goblet less attractive isn't going to fix the problem with house space, like you said the fix is increasing the limit, investing in more server resources. The fix in that situation would be to remove the idiotic race limitation, rather than redesigning Roegadyn. while pissing off those who like the Goblet now.
What if those who like the goblet now would also end up liking the redesigned version?![]()
