I keep expecting The Goblet to snap off the cliffside and fall into the ravine.
Right? Like, my Free Company is aligned with Malestrom since my leader is a WAR but I can't turn my back on Uldah. Worked out nicely for me that Goblet small houses were only 1.9 Million.

On Legacy servers I can imagine it's unpopular because we all spent two years hanging around the street corners of uldah. The scenery is just not "new" enough.
If I like all the zones equally, someone else would hate them all equally. If you don't like the Goblet, it wasn't intended for you. It was intended for the people that like arid regions with yellow stones. A large number of people enjoy cactus gardens (which I wish they had more of in game) and harden full sun plants.

Nothing Wrong with the Goblet
I think the Goblet is great. I think the main problem with the Goblet that people run into is that more so than the other wards, it really is -designed- to be looked at when full of houses. Lavender Beds and Mist both draw your eye outwards, towards the sea or forest/lake. The Goblet draws your eye -in-, much like a goblet actually holds water. If there is nothing but empty plots around you, then yeah it is not very striking. But when it is full, it looks pretty damn cool.
My hubby and I bought ours in Goblet. He liked I uldah (I hated it) but I compromised anyways and we've been in Uldah for several months. There was nearly no one here.. but now the area is crammed with houses since last night and I gotta say it looks nice with all the houses and yards full of stuff ^^
