One thing I am failing to grasp is why they are doing this. They KNOW they have a HUGE playerbase. They REMEMBER what happened with the 2.1 patch...so why is it that they are repeating the same mistakes?

FFXI didn't have houses they had, rooms which are basically the same as what we have with FC personal rooms.
System doesn't support this, but they're trying to get this in for 2.4.I don't think you are considering the amount of houses bought vs the amount of players who still don't own a house. Only 38 players per housing area were able to buy a small house, that is 114 players per server, it doesn't mean the other hundred/thousand of players left out are able to afford them. This is why even if they double the amount of land in 2.4 they will not have enough land for everbody, unless they find a better way to manage their resources and add maybe add 4x or 5x the current amount.
OR they should stop treating all servers equally and accept that different servers will have different needs, a dead server definitely wont need 3x+ the current amount, but a legacy server does.
Should they have not released personal housing at all till 2.4, or should they have released what they could right now, and release a ton more for 2.4 when they've upgraded the housing system?
The first would have been better, yes people would have been angry with personal housing being delayed yet again, but this whole situation could have been avoided.
Yes actually many of us would rather have Mog Houses with planters then this travesty. The problem is more then just availability, it's the simple fact that there's no difference between FC housing and personal housing.
And there SHOULD be. If inn rooms had the ability to be decorated and have gardening inside you would not see so many disappointed people. And yes actually Moghouses ARE housing. They house your character, they affect your character, you can decorate the inside, you can garden, you can get rested, you can invite people in.
FFXI moghouses ARE Houses. In every sense of the word and it's application/definition.
Too late :P And you will get things thrown at you if you claim silly things. Like moghouses aren't houses.... Really now..... lol.

But I thought the game had 2.3 million adventurers, the ads and videos love reminding everyone of that, surely they would have prepared for such a big player base that also proves this game is financial success subscription wise, right?
Thats true rank 6. But still takes time unlike getting max in GC .
