It's definitely not enough for the amount of interest in having a personal house. I mean, I can probably say that every single player (minus the RMT, although they'd want it for business reasons) wants a house. It's insane to think otherwise.

But it does also take up resources, more than you might think due to the way they have designed housing (to be more community based rather than just instanced, single person things). That's likely one of the biggest factors against us. I've no idea how much extra resources it would need to even allow for those percentages to be doubled, let alone increased ten- or twenty-fold (and even then, it's not going to satisfy everyone).

At least the houses are cheaper than they were back in 2.1 (y'know, when we were told they'd be cheaper for personal housing than they would be at that time for FCs).

Thank you SeiMinuet for this wonderful informative picture. A picture is worth a thousand words as they say Did you make it yourself? It's beautiful! Teach me how to make something like this

Judging by this information, it seems that Yoshida-san is trying to make housing a status symbol. Whether people agree with it or not, I think he should outright state this...or wait...has he? If housing were, indeed, like all the other things that Yoshida-san has made easier in this game, made [bold]too[/bold] easy to obtain, then that might be the proverbial last straw for a lot more people than this issue is. I think Yoshida-san has struck a nice balance of adding more housing to encourage further deification of the people who do have a home by new subscribers and still adding other interesting content.

Granted I have yet to try out this new content but I am excited with anticipation. If Yoshida-san were to make housing any easier than it is now, I might actually quit the game. Who wants a house when any Jane Doe can just go out and buy one like a gyasahl green.

The pricetag is what makes housing difficult for average players to obtain. For those who have been saving up and STILL were unable to obtain a house it was due to limited space. For example, I logged in as soon as the servers were online (around 7am my time) and within three minutes every single small house was taken. Essentially it came down to luck rather than difficulty, and it is very frustrating for those who spent months anticipating housing and earning gil towards the purchase.

I find the resources argument unacceptable when much older games have provided similar neighborhood style housing far more efficiently and effectively. If SE want to compete with modern MMOs or even older ones then this is something they seriously need to address.

Apart from that, information about personal housing was given falsely and deliberately misleading to ease the players' worries about prices. I find this to be extremely disappointing, and it has greatly lessened my trust in those involved and the company in general (see this and this).
