I think you are misunderstanding. I am talking baout Second Coil, not Third.The third turn will be out in a few weeks then the second turn will be unlocked, if you unlocked the loot too soon /a lot/ of raiders will be twiddling their thumbs before third coil.
Unless you were talking about the social lock, meh remove that and I don't think you were lol, but a loot lock of some sort is a good thing at least until the next step is available.
Oh, :P well after the videos and guides start getting posted I suppose they might as well allow a training session (no loot can drop, wont lock anyone out of the dungeon).
meh personally I think they should change second coil and even third coil to loot lockout rather than instance lockout so people can still enter and help friends out if they want. this is what I like about how they did Labyrinth of the Ancients and Syrcus Tower and I honestly don't understand why they don't do it for coil. this idea just makes more sense as it also allows players to practice the mechanics of it.
The only reason he has lockout is to try and keep as many subs as possible. You should be able to help your friends it's a freaking mmorpg .. not co-op
Aren't they already? Those who can clear T9 do so quickly, but it also locks out many of those (few) raiders who'd be willing to help others (even if it's only fc mates). These raiders cannot help those struggling to find a static or want to learn 2nd coil and once 3rd coil is out they are again busy with that. Now would be a good time to unlock 2nd coil, so people can catch up and get ready for 3rd coil.
Oh I was talking in general, for all future and current systems - I think allowing players to run for practice isn't the worst thing (would be nice to be allowed), particularly after the mysterious element is lost after guides are made.
Lol that is true, a lot of the seriously hardcore have already geared their main characters - now that we have Nexus out I suppose they won't be too bored till next Coil. Still would be careful doing that, I mean we already have people mad about housing - now we get the hardcore snowflakes mad too? Not all hardcore raiders act like that, it however seems the safest way to cater to the group is to design like it - you see it a lot in the "even though I get these 20 bis items, I dont want to share 1 of them - all 20 belong to coil and no where else" <- I believe it should be mostly true but being always true is not necessary (it isn't really true atm but I've seen a lot of threads against that, BiS is currently a mix of the end contents).Aren't they already? The Second Coil Will Be Unlocked . . . When Third Coil is released . . . Which is @ Patch 2.4 . . . Next Month.
I'm in the same boat after losing my static to patch 2.35. Been trying to pug it, but it's been like pulling teeth with 1 win every 1-2 weeks. Been actively searching for a new group, but with hunts handing out i110 gear the coil traffic has been cut in half on my server, and so far haven't had a single bite in a month.
Terrible game design. I'm especially feeling it now that I've damn near run out of other things to do. I can't imagine that anyone with an erratic work schedule appreciates this crap, as it makes statics effectively impossible. Additionally, some people outright don't enjoy doing things as part of a static, myself included. It trivializes content, they're often toxic, and managing them is a job that demands abstinence from irl activities at set times in order to adhere to an ig schedule.
They don't remove lockouts from second coil, because people who have cleared it would be able to do turns again same week.
It can be a good or a bad thing:
1. Good: they can help other people
2. Bad: they can sell runs to other people
So only difference here is do they charge money for assisting or not.
ive said it before..
instead of releasing all 4 turns at once.. split them up.
each patch gets 2 turns. without lock outs.
both parties win.
you get to learn and farm. while they get to gate drops.
