What happened to 800k personal housing?

It's a little surprising they're onpar with fc housing prices, given what they said in the past, but at the same time: game's been out a year, and 4m is chump change. You can make that much -easily- in a day (read: 3-6hrs) solo or party grinding.

Care to share how? I'm assuming you mean materia.

Personal Housing
While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

We realize that these measures will not immediately satisfy all players, especially those on legacy Worlds who are either new to the game or returning from extended absences. We ask for your patience and understanding as we strive to create a balanced housing system.

If personal housing was to be implemented at a lower cost, then the houses would be bought by a single person at a much lower price than if a free company wanted it. They were forced to retain the same price by implementing personal housing this way.

Personal housing in of itself seemed like overkill from the start considering what is already existing. But I'm more confused as to what was announced/promised against what was actually released. Maybe this isn't finalized? Are we getting a new personal housing-only district?

What a farce. I never in my life figured it would be the SAME AS FC HOUSING. You know, personal housing/fc housing... they should be two seperate entities....
I have been looking forward to personal housing since before the launch of 2.0. This is just the biggest disappointment. And adding two wards? Are you purposefully trying to piss people off?
I just... nah, sod it. Not sure I'll bother. I'll just put the focus on the fc house and my private chambers for now I guess.

Honestly this is a pure joke. SE could of done the more sane... yet albeit more time consuming method, and changed the free inn we get with our storyline quest, and have us pay 850K to get rid of the whole 'limitations' rule in place. Having it then act like a personal room akin to FC personal homes. The armoiore will of course still be in there, but everything else is gone, the chest housing old goods is now moveable, and you can also use the new items brought to you by crafters called... *drumrolls* 'Potting plants' and or 'window gardens'

I mean we get told we our the 'hero of light' and instead of being told that over and over, least the people of eorzea can do is throw us a damn bone after saving their arses so much.

Really thought they'd at least go the EQ2 route with housing, or something to that akin but holy hell SE, way to screw over people that play end game and want to be their own personal home interior decorator, but no..... guess i'll just do the menial task of working my crafters up and selling rare goods/mats. seeing only those who can play the market will be able to buy something for that amount.

E: And honestly, if yer gonna spout 'server limitations' and 'scarce resources' over and over, then do the right thing and fricking drop ps3 support. Cause we all know you can't really do crap so long as you spout this whole song and dance constantly. And this update shows

I began this game almost one month ago to this day. I'd like to think I've come pretty far in that month.

It's truly disheartening to know that I, as a newer player to this game, will never be able to enjoy the "privileged" aspects of it. I may as well stop playing while I'm ahead.

I'm not going to bother to read this whole thread because I'm sure it's a waste of time so I'm just going to say that not only was the 800k a mistranslation (he actually said that 800k would not be enough) it was from last year before 2.1 and not at all said in relation to personal housing. You are taking a off-hand comment from last year and connecting it to a recent promise to allow personal houses, as if they plan everything they say over several months and aren't human. How would you like it if everything you said was held as a binding promise for so long? They can't win against such idiots that make up their fans.

Actually you are correct, but only barely. He actually said it would be 850k. And yes he did speak it as a virtual promise during a recent live letter. He spoke at length about how personal housing should be affordable.

Like this, christ dude he said it in the last live letter before 2.1, December LAST YEAR, except he didn't say that at all it was mistranslated. I can only admire the fortitude of the devs and community managers because if I was them I would of exploded in a rage against the blatant lies people keep on spreading.
