Please reconsider stance on blue mage

Do we realy want only 5 Blue Mage spells? If they are going to release a botched up job like the current Summoner, I rather have they don't release a complex job like Blue Mage.

Blue Mage and the Community have nothing to do with each other. The real reason Blue Mage won't work is how the armoury/class system works. Blue Mage would be stuck with the majority of base Class skills then only get 5 "Job" abilities, these quests would be the only 'classic' way of fighting monsters and learning the abilities from them.

No reason the base class couldn't learn spells form enemies, then the job master
lets you in on the good stuff. "why are you a xclassherex boy? You could learn so
much more if you wanna learn the true ways of becoming a monster"

Just because it has one role doesn't mean its skills have to stick to that. Do Titan-Egis skills stick to Summoners DPS role? Will Leviathan-Egis and Ramuh-Egis?

Hit the nail on the head. Just because it has some stuff that wont be pure DPS, doesnt
mean it will have to affect its potency in the DPS role (assuming they choose DPS)

Someone else already mentioned how a large number of spells would work (pet hotbar style). Also look back on XI. Before BLU dropped in that game there were no jobs remotely similar. They created a system for BLU just like they did for PUP. Also SMN is fine...they did what they had to do to avoid SMN falling into the same pit as XIs pet jobs where they're useless without the pet. They could take DoTs away...add abilities/strength to the Egis..but then if the Egi dropped the SMN would be screwed. It would be XI's DRG all over again.

Ninja gets more than 5 skills. They get the ninja skills (there's like 3 or more) + 3 mudras + mudra activation. 3 mudras provide like 5 spells alone. Could be even more.
