I've found I'm not quite able to take the feedback from the voters. So I'm stuck in this mindset of "I'm apparently just bad in general" and it's not a mindset I want to have.

Why let the faceless masses bother you? It's like any time you put something of your creation in front of the public--some people are going to like it, some people won't, and most people won't be helpful. Appropriate what is constructive and discard what's not. This is entirely subjective. You liked the pictures, that's why you picked them. There's no point in letting others dictate your aesthetic.
