I really enjoy what you are all producing - I have always taken a lot of screenshots (though I never really do anything with them!) because this game is so beautiful. I think this is a great way to celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of the characters!
Please, keep it up!![]()
Yhan, the White Viper.
Listening to Yomi-
For the next cycle, perhaps judges can give an additional 3 points to add for creativity/originality. A lot of times I think models get burned for taking a risk, because they tried to meet the criteria and may have actually nailed it(concept wise), but their overall outcome is not as universally appealing as something more safe. Perhaps getting some recognition for meeting the criteria with originality could balance what Yomi is talking about? Idk. -IS- this what you are talking about Yomi?
*cries* Hullbreaker Isle was the entire reason I started this event. It's my favorite dungeon and I thought it was so pretty it inspired the entire idea. ; ; LOL.
I think everyone is really focusing too much on the scores. Not that everyone will agree, but I think Byooki deserved to go home in Round 1. I think Bleizahr deserved to go home in Round 2. They had the both low votes and low judges scores.
The only score that matters in the end is the lowest score. Everyone else, it doesn't matter if you are #1 or #10. You're safe and live to see another day. ^^
But quick question because I am confused. xD
Are you guys saying the judges are giving the models who take risky shots/comedic shots too high scores or too low scores? Maxwell's from Round 2 was cute and funny, but not a model shot...but because it had an overall good feel I gave it a 2. Kurri's risky shot from this round, in my opinion, is cool, but not a model shot...so I gave it a 2 as well. :\ I could get people from both sides saying I should score differently. Pwease cwarify for us judges ; ; :3
I almost want to drop Model from the contest name just so everyone will stop focusing on that.
It's really just a screen shot contest for really cool and pretty pictures...
I want this to be a Community Event that includes everyone...but maybe I am giving the voters too much power? But in my opinion, neither round would change as of now. Byooki and Bleizahr would still be eliminated even if just the judges decided their fate, ya know? ; ;
If anyone has ideas on how they want to voting system to change, please type it up, and all the models, who are still in the running, can vote on a voting system change.
I find this conversation actually funny. Aren't we all taking this event a tad bit too serious. XD
There's nothing to even win but a shiny title that almost nobody will truely care about. I do agree however on what was said about the voting and all. But then I realise, isn't it exactly the reason why it's vague. This allows for everyone to get a vote in some way or another.
Perhaps you love the screenshot and with it conveys. ( Drawn in by scenario and the vibe/story it tells)
Or...
Perhaps you're so smitten with the model and pose. (Drawn in by the charm that the model is giving off)
Both are very viable ways to me for people to vote. Because in the end people are voting because that screenshot drew them in and caught their interest. Previous cycle, there was Rukirii who took great and fitting screenshots and so did Morina. But for me in Rukirii's case, I would have voted for the global feel of the screenshot. While in Morina's case, I'd have voted on how the model was posed, because I was smitten by Morina's character.(and saddened with the hair change rounds D
Just something to think about. I do have my own constructive critique to give at the end of this cycle to the organizers.
edit:
Damn I was hoping to get my post up before Rongi replied. I'm supportive off the current voting system. I haven't seen a round where people didn't get the deserved amount of votes.

Haha beat you too it Ron! :PJust something to think about. I do have my own constructive critique to give at the end of this cycle to the organizers.

You might as well give the criticism now, see if it can change anything for the better since so many people are upset with the event. ; ;
On a side note, I really do appreciate everyone saying organizerS with an S to lighten the blow at comments directed at me, but just say me, because I am the only organizer, and I take full responsibility for any complaints you all have. ^^;;
Oh and just a note, that will either make people happier or more upset, xD, I actually told the judges to stop giving 0s as scores. So it's been 1-3 since the official rounds started.
and we are getting a TON more votes now than we were in the PR rounds, so with this many voters participating...maybe I need to increase the Judges scores from 1-3 to 1-5 maybe? I dunno. You guys decide. -_- I am so distraught from seeing you all upset. I love all of you so I hate that something I created is making you guys sad.
I empathize with the perspective of people who find harsh criticism exactly what it is — harsh — but I'm not upset. I recognize the effort everyone has put into both sides of this event, and I've greatly enjoyed my time taking shots for it. (Even though I've been working on it to the exclusion of most other things in 14 right now...) No, it's not perfect. Nothing is. But I'm certain I'm not the only one.
Unfortunaly for you Rongi, my critique had nothing that could solve the voting system lol. Besides, I like how it is.
But my only critique is about the idea of making an event where both males & female characters are competing against each other. Especially for a competition about models. I would have preferred males and females to be seperate. And have a winner for each gender. And perhaps make a for fun final round to see who of the two wins. Because, let's be honest here. As a straight man, I will be naturally more inclined to vote on the female characters than the male. Unless there are screenshots that naturally stand out like this rounds Vahn and Jayzan.
I know I would not have voted on myself for the screenshot I submitted this round lol. But then again, seperating by gender might give you a harder job.
Final word: You're doing a REALLY good job Rongi with this event. And I love all the rounds that you come up with. (Except round 5+6 for the reasons I mailed you lol D: )
