if ppl cared for vanity then Perfect world international AND world of warcraft would not have millions of players. ffxi and ffxiv are the 2 pleasing to look at mmo, and the most limiting.

again immersion is how much we can interect with the enviroment. Not realism or vanity.

And more ppl spamed the dance emote in ffxi. Then ppl spamed the space bar in WoW. in ffxi you can find 20+ ppl in a zone spamming /dance 2 or /dance 4 I don't nor ever seen 20+ spam jumpers in WoW in one zone. Last time I played WoW was just before ffxiv was launched so pretty recently I was on 12 different servers ex[ploring trying to find a server community I fit in. With the combination of the 12 i've only ever seen 5 spam jumpers. Only 5, not 5 per server.

the only time i've seen jump abused in WoW was the rmt hackers who jump killed their character to spell out rmt ads. (which was kinda cool to see actually)

Just as the above poster that doesn't seem to know respect for other people's opinion, you seem to forget the detail that those millions of players (which in the case of PWI are inconsequential, being a F2P game. I'm a "player" as well, according to their counts, even if I didn't touch the game since the second day after open beta) may like those games for a wide variety of reasons, not necessarily because you can jump.

    Correlation doesn't imply causation.

On the fact that I'm "too serious for gaming", what do you mean? There are plenty games that take a "serious approach" to storytelling and visuals. You have a PS3, try heavy rain.

I play FFXIV and not WoW (between the other reasons) because I like a more "serious" visual style and storytelling. Otherwise I'd be there dabbling with comedic relief orcs and cartoonish art, isn't it?

I'm not acting as jumping is a "game killer", I'm acting as random jumping is something I don't like to see in a MMORPG. If I don't like something, and I have reasons I find valid not to like it, I will argue against it. It's that simple.

Or do you think that everyone should agree with the inclusion of everything that doesn't "kill" the game? no matter how much they find it nonsensical?

A lot of things can add "tons of content". Adding aliens and lightsabers would addd "tons of content". I'm sure I don't need to explain why I would be against it, right?
