You know, the funny thing about this is it seems no one tips for melds anymore. The past several times someone wanted melds, I offered to help, meld and then wait for tips and boom, they left. Feels weird asking for tips, though. Seems like I should just straight up charge people so there's an understanding upfront that I expect gil for my services.

Doesn't the request meld window allow them to add a tip that you can see before melding? If i get melding tips it's usually through that. If you do expect gil then yes you should mention that so there are no hard feelings and there is nothing wrong with asking for money in return for your time.

For selling things, I just charge what I normally would if I put it up on the boards (so a bit of an undercut) as getting rid of an item that way means you can avoid a price war and you don't have to wait for the item to sell so I think it's fair as they are helping you out just as much as you are helping them.

When people want crafts or melds, I don't ask for anything if they supply their own mats including crystals/carbonized matter but people on my server are usually very insistent on giving me money as a thank you.

Kindly keep your "shop" out of the PF. The Party Finder is supposed, as the name implies, to help people find parties. It is not an advertising board.

Tell you what. You find me where in the ToS that says I can't advertise my services in the Party Finder, and I won't.

Its fine with 1 or 2 people but if you get 5,000 people to do it, whether its in the ToS or not, PF will be the new MB.

Most the times, if your advertising on the PF, your also on my Black list.

And guess what? It's not going to happen, because it would have happened already. You think I was the only one to think about doing this? People will open up a shop, sell stuff, take the PF down and move on. It's not like these shops are up 24/7, if they are even on there 24 minutes and 7 seconds.

Melds = free, yes I got the class to 50 but I'm not really doing anything other than standing there while they request meld, I make sure they know melds are free when they ask for meld, though I only do it if I'm not busy.

Crafts = if all mats are given then it's free, tips are welcome but not required, though if it's a large batch I do expect a tip.
If no mats are given then I charge for mats (based on NPC price or MB pice + discount, I know mb prices are a bit... overpriced) and while I don't ask for tip directly, I do tell them the price along with "it doesn't include tip" to hint them.
