Going to join the fray here and post each step of my progress from Desert Yellow to Grape Purple (one new feathers message from one fruit type at a time). Hopefully I can help corroborate the findings so far, and if something goes horribly awry, hopefully you'll at least be able to help meh fix it!

Expectation: Sunset Orange (178 85 39)

Notes: This stage is a little strange if one assumes that the raw RGB values are of worth, here. From Pumpkin to Sunset, the green decreases as expected, but the red decreases and the blue increases? From an apple? SE's values must be a little different if this is true. Also, another 12 apples down. Doubt I'll make it from sunset (assuming I get sunset) to blood in just 9 from my first planting. <sad meh>

CURRENT PERSONAL NOTES
Uh, oh. It took me fifteen berries to get a "New Feathers" message from Dalamud Red, which leads me to believe that I might overshoot my target of Rolanberry and fall into the Regal loop. If I do this, I'd like to try to avoid going backwards due to the number of people who get caught in the loop ... but I also haven't seen a very good alternative that takes you around it. Bahhh... gonna need to grow some more apples...

Not really.. My first time through it took 17 to hit Rolanberry, then 1 more next stage to hit Regal. But they're still ridiculously close.
if you do happen to skip over and land on Regal. I might have to way back to Rolanberry in a few hours; me or the other guy.

And as I said before, you may encounter Wine Red between Rolanberry and Grape, just keep feeding pears.

CURRENT PERSONAL NOTES
Alright! RNGesus did not strike me down into the Regal loop, which means that unless I become the unlucky sap that confirms the Chestnut Brown path (Could the Twelve be that cruel? I hope not.), I could be on my way to Grape Purple soon enough! I'm going to hold back the joy and thanks until we're there, though; I hear fate abhors a lack of humility, eh?
