New Genders and PC Players!

I would love to play a male miqo'te and would certainly would like the option to be able to change once PS3 version comes out. Right now though I'm undecided if I would do the gender change (and hopefully name change as well) or just start out new and see how new player content has changed.

I'm totally on board, i've always wanted to be shorter^.^ but i still really want the haircut function to be added. You cant see my tiara with my hair now, its too long at the front >.<

or just keep your old character and make a new one -.- I never liked the idea of gender/race changing, even for cash. You have the ability to have multiple characters for a reason.

I can understand a onetime deal, in the event new races and genders are added, like in this case, but after that, if you want another race/gender, make a new character.

In other games, it makes sense to just make a new character because one character cant do every class and job. In FFXI and XIV, making a new character would only be sensable for a mule to hold items. I sure dont want to start over just to switch to male miqo'te. If this was as simple as 'We can only be one class and have one or two crafts' then sure, make a new char. Also, when we have to start paying, that extra character will cost you more.

I agree with this as long as they include a name change!! I also really hope they are including female highlanders. That is what i really want to play!!

I'm glad you recognized female Highlanders! Everyone always seems to forget them as they're overshadowed by female Roegadyn and male Miqo'te. Poor things.

Spoke with Yoshida regarding the ability for current players to have some kind of "one-time switch" for any new genders that appear in the future, he said that he appreciates the comments and that he'll consider it.

I really hope so. I've wanted to be a male cat person since I started ff11!

Post/sign here if you feel that PC players should be given the one-time opportunity to switch their race/gender given the recent news regarding the addition of missing genders at the PS3 launch of Final Fantasy XIV. I referenced this briefly in a post within the thread where the news was originally requested and announced, but now I feel that Square-Enix needs to hear this up front and I'm sure many more will agree.

Even if you don't personally want to take advantage of a one-time race/gender change consider the players who may have chosen a race simply because a gender from another race was not available. For example, a player choosing a Midlander Hyur instead of picking a female Miqo'te but would have loved to have chosen a male Miqo'te if the choice had been given.

These missing genders have been desired by fans of the Final Fantasy online games since the beginning of Final Fantasy XI, myself included. Furthermore, the PC players have stayed loyal since release and don't deserve to have to restart if they want to take advantage of this exciting new addition to the game.

Simply giving the option the first time a player logs in after the new genders have been released to change their race/gender combination one time and one time only is nothing of a feat and would make a lot of loyal fans happy.
