I wonder if this class will be available only after finishing the main story quests or if new players will be able to play as rogue / ninja right from the start ...

This is so going to end up being FFXIV:ARoN.... (FFXIV:A Realm of Ninja's)
Its sleek, flashy, (and black). Cant wait to see what this does to the que's, which are already pretty bad.
Granted, I'll be levelling it up like everyone else, since its the only combat class left now for me, but its going to be nuts in a 24 man raid if all the dps are Ninja's hopping around like squirrels on extra strong coffee. It's going to look ilke an old Warner Bros. cartoon LOL.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
since it's included into the 2.1 story, i doubt they will give you acces to the class before the story of the 2.4 it's almost or finished. it will look weird to meet Yugiri talking to make a dojo for a new way to fight and already be ninja.
This makes sense, too bad it isn't a tanking class though. It would have helped in reducing DF queueing ...
But it will not look weird to meet Yugiri talking to make a dojo for a new way to fight whilst there's thousands of ninja's around you controlled by other players? In MMO's story progression and the surroundings cannot always make sense.
your story is your alone, what other heroes do have little to no impact to it.
do not hope to be able to pick rogue directly with the 2.4, you will probably need to finish the new quest line. it's logical and that will not be the first time they do this.
the best example come from FF11, where for get acces to some class, like samurai you had to have acces to some area, that was asking before hand to have complet a certain number of the story quest.
the new tank class will come with the expansion, however, i will repeat what was said countless time, it's not the add of a new tank class that will resolve all the trouble of tank. if people don't want to tank (it's a lot of responsability after all and can be frustrating with some healer and dps), you can have 1 dps class, 1 healer and 1.000.000 tank class, people will still not play tank.

Iron Giant Kakashi confirmed?
Thanks for sharing!
The animations are really...good compared to what we have. It's probably intentional but the ninja outfit in the video really remind me of Shadow from FFVI.
But this isn't XI...XI doesn't have classes, XIV does. All classes are always available, you unlock the jobs.your story is your alone, what other heroes do have little to no impact to it.

Rogue is tied to Limsa, and has been existing as a hidden guild, all along; You join the Rogue Guild, lv up, and then you go to Yugiri, at lv 30, and become Ninja.
As a new player in 2.4, you might as well come directly from the Rogue guild. Would be totally retarded to lock it out behind 2.4 storyline, since you'd need to go through 2.0-2.4, to be able to play Rogue?? not gonna happen...
