Exactly, it's a system very close to gambling, instead of gambling money you are gambling your time and energy.

You can edit your original post to bypass the 1k character limit.
I never liked the idea of random shared loot, no matter in which Game. It favors Luck and the endurance and time invested is not counted. I would prefer a token system where after the last boss was defeated, you receive a certain amount of tokens you can trade in for the equipment you want. This way you can really plan your character progress and do not rely on Luck.
I am normally lucky enough to get most of the Loot I want with one exception - Coil. In the 1st installment of it, I was iLevel 90 before I saw the FIRST item for my main class drop. And in Coil 2 it is the same. I have seen close to 20 items from the bosses by now, none of them was for my main class. Others in my group have 2-3 items already, I still walk around in "hunting" gear. I have put in the same efforts they did, spent the same amount of time as they did, but still, I have nothing. And nobody can tell me if this will ever change. So I can just hope for each week that the RNG god in Coil is nicer to me lol. But in a few more weeks, I will be decked out in iLevel 110 gear through CT2 and hunt so the whole Coil loot will become pretty pointless to me. Maybe 1-2 items for ACC cap or better stats but that's it. That's why I do not like the shared, random loot system they have.
My problem with the loot system is RNG itself. We've had four SCH books and three BLM staffs along with one WHM cane out of Turn 9 and that's just dumb. Really kills the motivation to go back in there when we're met with nothing but repeats. Second chest in there has been sketchy for us too with three monk pants, two DRG belts (back to back no less), two tank rings (which we needed, thankfully) and WHM pants. Personally I would like to see a token system applied to Coil - not only because of the weekly lockout - but because RNG can just be so cruel.
My group has gotten 8 Healer Coats from Turn 7, for example, but we've never seen the Monk Chest despite clearing since the second week of 2.2. There's a handful of other 6-8 items we haven't seen either but it's definitely the Turn 9 repeats that hurt the most. I'm almost convinced the chest in there is bugged at this point.
You must not really understand the game you are currently playing. Myth and Soldiery is an alternative to loot from Coil. You can still run Coil 1279691734696249786 times and theoretically NEVER get the piece you are looking for.
Myth, Soldiery, Allied Seals, GC Seals, these are all types of currency. Sure, they can be used to purchase gear. But they are not the same thing as a 'Token System'. A token system (used by many other MMOs) is used for raid type content with a lock out. It's used so that a player can eventually get the loot they are going for if RNG continues to fail them.
Again, two different things.
