You really want to fix the issue with people insta-pulling and the zerg? Set them up so that as soon the first attack hits they go in to Invulnerable mode for X minutes. At the end of that window, the fight actually begins. It's not a perfect solution but it's the most likely to have any real impact on the issue.

If they just fix the mobs disappearing... I have a hard time blaming the early pullers, when waiting means they probably wont even get to see the mob, much less get a shot in.

Change A and B Hunts to Leve fueled. (Force spawns to ffxi vets) Each person in a group can use a Leve allowance to spawn a hunt of their picking. B could be 1 allowance each, A could be 4 allowances (Bs reward 5 allied seals, As reward 20 allied seals) See below for S rank. Dish out the rewards like maps. seals and tomes are a fixed amount per person participating. This would also encourage people to get in a party to work with others. Limits the spawning. No one has to wait. This would also give players something more meaningful to do leve allowances after capping all their classes to 50 (these are also usually the old players still looking to gear up classes)

S ranks remain on the same spawn system. But make S ranks more like Odin. Every time we defeat an S, it gets stronger. Every time an S defeats us, it gets weaker. This will encourage the early pullers to get more people to the zone to fight the S rank.

It would be nice if people played hunts the way they were meant to be played and not force their opinion on how they should be played on others. you know....forming a party, finding targets and taking them down. Not looking for a hunt, seeing coordinates in the chat log, rushing to that zone, begging people not to pull, and QQ when you don't get credit. The sense of entitlement is ridiculous, lol.

    - unnecessary, FATEs pop on the map, everyone who wants it can see it.
Not ones that require you to talk to an NPC first.

Your rules are your rules & not everyone has signed on your personal social contract. The mechanics that you follow where everyone must wait for who's on the way are not hard coded into the game. If you show up late, if someone pulls early... so what? It's... a... game. Y'all whine too much.

Here's an example of how I chose to approach this game: I needed the Tower of Power fate to finish off my aminus weapon. Literally the last thing I needed. I waited for it, killed some enemies near by, help with Naul cuz he was up, did a duty roulette. I ran up to whitebrim to finish some other fates on the map hoping it would help what I need to spawn faster. Then I noticed the fate I needed was up & it was about 40% complete. There would be no way I'd have enough time to run there & get the credit I needed. So I went off & did something else & decided I'd come back either later or the next day. I didn't infringe on anyone else's game play & ask them to hold the fate, I didn't get mad at the person who was doing the fate, I didn't come to the forums to rant at SE, or RNG.

If you don't want to deal with open world content in an online game where other people may not adhere to you version of "the social contract", then go play another game. Otherwise, accept that you may not get every thing you want, ever time you want it & not every thing will happen on your personal schedule.

FFXI already has this, it's called "Voidwatch" and it's great system. Why FF14 does not just flat out steal this, and reappropriate it for this game, it's beyond me lol. Considering they already stole so many things from FFXI to a degree. And I agree, using levee would solve big problem with the Hunt, at the same time prompting player to socialize and join other to gain the most benefits. The solo and casuals can still do their daily hunt bills while giving others who like to team up, more incentives to do so.

I agree with everything you're saying except this one line so just in case you didn't know, I thought I should tell you. NPC's that you need to talk to to start a FATE are shown on the map, but until the FATE is started the icon is smaller and it doesn't have the big circle around it. Hope that helps if you ever need a FATE like that ^_^

But yes, I agree that the game should be played as designed. It has repeatedly been stated that the zerg is against that design. B's are for solo play (though they were briefly upgraded to light party play), A's are for full party play and S's are for alliance sizes groups. The zerg takes away a big chunk of the content, either by destroying the difficulty appropriate to the encounter, making it difficult for an appropriate number of players who hunted and found the mob to earn their reward and even making it difficult for their own members to see the target themselves.

Parts of the playerbase have attempted to redesign the concepts around their own ideals and then get angry when others don't comply but that simply isn't part of the game, it's part of the rules their group made and that not everyone agreed to. Waiting, resetting mobs, starting shout wars over missed targets; it's all on them and their inability to accept the game the way it was designed, instead trying to shoehorn hundreds of players into content aimed at 1/4/8/24 and then being surprised/upset when problems arise.
