I like this idea but would change it slightly. Rather than the less number of people period, I think it should be closer to the number of people who are supposed to do the content. 8 people would have the best chance at log drops on an A and 24 for an S.
Whose community? I think you're referring to you and your linkshells, cycling around each map all day killing every single S, A and B while everyone else missed out.
B Rank changes really hurt our community. People hardly group anymore now, and we have no more need for organization so there's no communication or anything like we had. It's just a mad rush to kill because nobody wants to miss the next A window due to no longer having Bs to supplant what was missed. It's terrible.
Reason for the changes is so people outside your arrangement can get some allied seals too. Is that ok with you? I hope so. Greedy people like you are what really hurt our community.
Our "arrangement" allowed everyone and anyone that asked to be invited to our LS in. No one was excluded as long as they asked. If the people on your own server could not take the initiative to make something everyone could get involved with, then I feel sorry for your server. I would have you not assume every LS monopolized, because ours was nothing like that. Anyone outside the LS that found and pulled a mark before we discovered it were respected and left alone.
People like -you- that take no initiative for yourselves and assume we're all greedy are what hurts the community. This is why MMO activities end up silent and lifeless, because nobody wants to communicate outside their circle anymore. Just kill your marks and move on with your day. Call me what you want, but calling me greedy is ironic considering I spent most of my time with hunts getting casual players hunting.
How many ppl need to be there so is not consider "pulling early"? You and your party? Everyone yell pull early but early is subjective term, what is early for you my not be early for others, so instead of yelling pulled early make something concrete.
I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.
Um, you're not going to get very far reporting people for "early pulls", an essentially community made violation of the unofficial 69th law of "just being cool to each other, man". There's nothing in the ToS that says you can't engage an unclaimed mob whenever you damn well please, unless I'm outlandishly and hilariously mistaken. Unless they are griefing in chat, then that's a different story, otherwise you're just making assumptions.
Anyway, the A and S ranks on Tonberry are practically unplayable at the moment. So any talk of trolls is pretty much moot. You're lucky to see the model and getting full credit is very very difficult. The simple -obvious- fact is that there are too many people doing this content, and I totally understand how A and S ranks are now being pulled very quickly. The simple solution? Not caring much about hunts like I've always done.
Can you obtain loot drops if a mob is purple? I ask because the two times i got my random book my party pulled it. So ive been tempted to pull each time.
Red/Puple only makes a difference for normal mobs, where the puller gets full exp, these rewards are based on contribution and you don't get more contrib for claiming the elite.
So yeah doesn't matter who pulls, only matters how much contrib you can get before the horde burns it down.
Coordinating multiple parties for S ranks is fine. Nothing wrong with doing that. Hogging every B rank to yourselves for 5 seals a pop, which were intended for solo or light party players is where you got it all wrong. Hence the changes introduced in 2.35. A ranks were intended for full party/FC, not to be left untouched until your entire network of linkshells arrived for full credit. The general idea you're promoting is that you need to be in a Hunt linkshell if you wish to participate for the rewards. What about players outside Hunt linkshells? Those people don't take the initiative you say? Devoid of any information on spawns/coordinates, unable to get involved at all. That's not how the Hunt was intended ok? More work needs to be done in light of 2.35, so that a lot of players who aren't able to zerg all day long through every map and spawn timer can achieve similar rewards.
Hopefully those changes mean no more ability to spawn track, and no more linkshell scouts littering maps running the radar app. Just because there are people who want The Hunt to be fair for ALL (not just linkshell networks such as yours) and implemented as intended, doesn't make them any less social or helpful amongst the community than you.

As SE designed them to be done by one to several Groups and not "Half-the-Server"
I don´t think, tweaking it to "i want the whole Server to be here" pulls a different direction than the original idea...
matter of fact, "early pull" is not existant - those who arrive late, are those who didn´t hunt, but wait in town crafting or doing other stuff, while waiting for a Linkshell announcement ... which happens when someone from a active grp is actually on site, so when most people learn of a Location, there are people standing therer for 2+ Minutes already...
now waiting for the whole server to arrive, to not see the Monster at all because the area is overcrowded, ... nobody wants.
Remember, it is called "Hunting", not "Gather the whole Server so we can suit up all in i110 Strategy gear"...
Never a mind was changed on an internet board, no matter how good your arguments are...
