Like one of my Hunting LS guys say.
"This is not Hunting, its organised massacre"
When we have multiple LS coordinating or even just a simple dedicated to Hunting, it is no longer THE HUNT.
It should have been forced pop after a certain set of rules are fulfilled.
Never a mind was changed on an internet board, no matter how good your arguments are...
It happened a good number of times to me: I am in a zone minding my own business, when i just see a shout like: A-rank @ <pos>. So i jump on my chocobo, ride to the location, shout for a PT-invite, get into a party, and (if there wasn't some impatient person/troll that already pulled) kill it for full credit. And other times i see a mark called out in the LS/FC, teleport, and shout for a PT-invite there. If you're in a zone and see theese kind of shouts, what's keeping you from shouting for a PT as well?... A ranks were intended for full party/FC, not to be left untouched until your entire network of linkshells arrived for full credit. The general idea you're promoting is that you need to be in a Hunt linkshell if you wish to participate for the rewards. What about players outside Hunt linkshells? ...
So you dont wanna join a Hunt-LS, and you dont wanna join hunting partys? Sorry, but it does indeed make you look antisocial. Usually there are plenty of hunting partys up in PF, and i never had a PT where not at least 1-2 people had access to info from a bigger LS wich you can profit from as well...
It's harder to find a solution if the focus is on making the mob less appealing to pull right away, and easier to simply increase the mob's health. If they can find a way to make the mob die more slowly the more people are involved with the fight, that would basically cover it. Basically, have them decide that the mob should take x number of seconds/minutes/whatever to kill, and no matter how many people you throw at it, it will ALWAYS take that long. That would give other players a chance to get involved.
Then decrease the amount of participation needed and you pretty much have hunts that everyone can be a part of, if they move at a reasonable rate.
Its funny because the ONLY people I've seen acting like jerks are the people who whine about mobs being "pulled early".
Cussing people out in zone wide shouts, acting like entitled babies, and then BLACKLISTING PEOPLE for being involved with those pulls.
Like, I'm sorry but between the two groups, the people who are just running around hunting and not giving a crap if a mob was "pulled early" or not are the people I'd rather throw my lot in with. Not a bunch of entitled people who are upset because they missed out on the chance at 12 seals from a mob that's not even on their hunt bills. It was more ridiculous before because they were whining over 5 seals.
Yea, this is why I don't even bother with hunts. I see people revert to being toddlers all because they missed a chance to kill a hunt mob. "OMG SOMEONE ACTUALLY PLAYED THE GAME THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO PLAYED! BLACKLIST! BLAAACCKKLLIIIIST! WAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" I feel bad for them, as I watch the few shreds of dignity they had left flutter off into the wind, but mostly I feel glad that I'm not part of the hunt zerg that would have to listen to that at every single fight. Its funny because the ONLY people I've seen acting like jerks are the people who whine about mobs being "pulled early".

I don't know about others in the game, but most the folks I run into on Balmung just blacklist anyone who demands another player be blacklisted due to a hunt pull. =D We could give a crap about whether you were included in play time with everyone else, but the second you start filling up chat with QQ, it's best to just implement quiet time lol.
The best solution would just make oil and sand purchasable via other means and not just allied seals. 1500 myth for each would be very reasonable, as well as for 2000 wolf marks. And take out myth reward and soldiery reward from Hunt. By doing that they make allied seals as supplemental way to earn oil and sand (and gears), while making other contents a worthwhile doing because it gives players several ways to buy oil and sands. Just put soldiery exclusive to duty finder content.
Do you shout out for every fate-pop npc that you happen to come across?
- unnecessary, FATEs pop on the map, everyone who wants it can see it.
Do let everyone know that something on the MB is super low priced at the moment?
- there's limited quantity
Do you walk up to a level 49 & say, "let's party up & get you to 50 stat!"?
- if i'm Lv 49 and leveling, i would if its brought to my attention.
you make it sound like it's so difficult to draw the line.
anything more than 1 in-game hour is unreasonable, most of the time you don't even have to wait more than 5-10 game minutes.
unlike your Market Board example Allied Seals is unlikely to diminish by letting more people know. unlike your party up example, it's hard to know when people have the same objective.
