Good job SE..
...continue to negate any reason for doing group content....
I wonder if I'll have to pay a sub for Final Fantasy 15 for that single-player experience.

What a dumb comment about 15, we all know it's never coming out.
Given that the spawn timer between A, and S ranks are pretty lengthy..if you're spending time waiting around for all of them, you've got another problem.
Given that most people, on my server at least, don't even bother with B ranks in the 1st place. This statement is totally false. Got 250ish (think it was 263 or some fked up number) soldiery in ~2 hours (the time between getting home and having raids) just last reset so that I could get my new robe b4 raid time.
Let us not pretend Bs were in any way the reason hunts make all other content invalid. B's were the only ones that were properly tuned in the 1st place.
Newer players to MMO games will likely draw from their experiences playing FPS games, GTA, Dragon Age, Skyrim, etc.. and they will evaluate a MMO based on that criteria. But other online games (and offline RPGs) are designed to be picked up, played for maybe 5 months and then abandoned for when the next big game comes along. A Veteran MMO gamer knows that the experience of the game is stretched out over years, and if crafted properly, it leaves players with some of the best gaming experiences to be found anywhere. This is the problem most content is solo and you get your group action from a cross-server queueing tool. This is not like older MMOs where servers developed real communities. It's more like MacDonald's Drive-Thru, where you queue up, do your run, then never meet those people again.
While I'm willing to believe that is true, I got like half my seals from B's. Only ever killed like 3 S's, and the split between B/A was about 50/50 for seals, so its a pretty huge nerf IMO.
I thought that the devs mentioned in the most recent live letter that they were for sure adjusting the daily bills but were hesitant on adjusting A and S rank hunts? How is it any surprise that they did exactly what they said they were going to do?
I feel like SE has freed people from hunt for 8 hours a day. Teleporting half across the world just to a B rank that gets zerged down in 5 seconds.
Now you can fill your time with other things in between hunting for A's, AND the casual people (like myself) can actually earn a moderate amount weekly without competing for said A's nearly as much.
Seems like a win/win to me.
me too, and i'm someone who hunts A's all the time.I feel like SE has freed people from hunt for 8 hours a day. Teleporting half across the world just to a B rank that gets zerged down in 5 seconds.

i'd rather not look for B's, i wouldn't even go to them but the rest of my party already went, feels bad not to help them get full credit so i end up going most of the time. now i won't have to.
It's a bit of a stretch to call B ranks "group content", even talking pre-patch. The only thing the patch did was bring B's closer to what they were intended to be from the beginning.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
