They were, were!
Rhoswyn wanted to give Carvallain a gift and he rejects it because he thinks it is a trap. Sounds like this could actually be the reason she fell in love with him![]()
According to part 2 of Tales, the Gate of Thal symbolizes passage into the afterlife. Soldiers hope to cheat death by doing it "preemptively" this way. So next time you're about to queue up for some primal battles, exit Gate of Thal first!
Also, we find out why Mumuepo is no longer the Thaumaturges' Guild master and now spends his time training in the Halatali (Hard) pits.

Wait. In part two, does it really state that Nanamo is only 16 years old??
Nanamo was 16 at the time of 1.x and 21 in ARR.
Two posts down, three to go! This one was a great entry. It's been fun watching the Sultana's rise from being a simple figurehead to a true leader; I'm excited to see where Ul'dah ends up by the end of the game. The changes to the THM guild also stand out a lot better with this context. The one thing I'm curious about...
Raubahn’s place was with the host at the Carteneau Flats. It was his duty to lead his men into battle against the XIVth Imperial Legion.
I know the XIVth was ordered to support the VIIth under Nael van Darnus, but didn't the XIVth haul ass back to Ala Mhigo as soon as he was defeated? The way the NPC spoke about it in Living on a Prayer, Gaius van Baelsar came back without his army to watch the battle quietly in his airship from a distance in hopes that Eorzea would survive until his conquest of it.

They have gone so far as to send false intelligence to Garlemald, declaring Meteor a success and van Darnus a hero. Suffice it to say, your leaders shall not long suffer the legion's presence. A clash between the Eorzean Alliance and the VIIth is inevitable. Yet know that even as they struggle, the red moon of Allag shall come and lay this land to waste. And the White Raven shall realize his twisted ambition from beyond the grave. It falls to you to prevent that from happening, old friend - so be sure to fight with all your strength. And leave me something worth conquering! <Gaius walks behind the stone and disappears, but his voice calls down from an airship out of view> I shall enjoy watching the drama unfold from my vantage point on high. And when all is said and done, Garlemald's mighty standard shall rise in every corner of the realm. Live, adventurer, and we may well meet again. I take my leave of you.Originally Posted by Y'shtola
Hm? The stench of ceruleum hangs upon your garments. Unless I'm mistaken, you have recently crossed paths with the Empire... Gaius van Baelsar of the XIVth Imperial Legion? I had thought the man long withdrawn to Ala Mhigo. The Black Wolf has cooperated with us in the past, so determined was he to thwart the White Raven - but for him to divulge the VIIth's position is...unexpected. The heart of Eorzea... This could only refer to Mor Dhona, the place of convergence for aether.
Yeah I read that too and went "um no." Pretty sure it was the remnants of the VIIth and Gaius was just being a spectator, after all why would he use his own XIVth with Dalamud coming down. I feel sorry for Mumuepo but it's nice to see how/why he lost his Thaumaturge GM title and ended up in Halatali (gotta earn gil somehow). The Five owe it all to the Sultana so its nice to maybe think that the Thaumaturge won't be after her as assassins atleast just yet.
Edit: Still wanna learn his role in the Niellefresne stabbing~

OKAY BUT EVERYONE IS MISSING THE REAL IMPORTANT THING IN THE SECOND ONE:
Raubahn's adopted son, Pipin Tarupin.
Where is he why have we not seen him who is he tell us everything, Ferne, show us a picture, something. PLEASE.
Wasn't Thancred at the Ossurary in the End of an Era trailer?her steps towards Arrzaneth Ossuary.
Upon arriving at the temple, Pipin helped Nanamo to her knees and stood guard as she prayed. On the far side of the city, at Milvaneth Sacrarium, Thancred...
That's what I thought too - I even tried verifying that but sadly the media player I was using I couldn't pause the video at the right frame to see the statue in the split second before it becomes enveloped in light, but that is the proof - if it's the Ossurary the statue would be of Thal (with the serpent sword); if it's the Sacrarium it's Nald (who is holding a long tall vase). If someone could verify this it would put this to rest.
