I enjoyed the story btw, I was just confused by that detail.

Okay, so I rewatched both End of an Era and A New Beginning. In A New Beginning, Thancred is definitely in the Ossuary in the post Calamity portions of the video. You can't really tell which statue it is in End of an Era because of the blue light. The juxtaposition of the two halves the video work to suggest Thancred is in the Ossuary during the calamity, but technically it could have been the Sacrarium.

(Yay I found ppl talking about these awesome stories! ^_^)

I only loved Merlwyb more after reading that first one. Everything I hear or see about her and Limsa in general confirms to me I made the right choice starting as MRD. Love that city state so much.

And we now know that the Victory in the dry docks is not just named for the concept of victory against all odds, but also for Merlwyb's faithful steed. Poor bird. Great tidbit, though. It'll color how I look at that ship from now on.

    Regarding Rhoswen and Carvallain:

It's one of the things I wish we had more of, like wow does with stories and books.

I found their valentine's day story absolutely adorable so I was so happy to see that bit about how Carvallain was the one who saved Rhoswen and "swept her up onto the saddle like a bloody knight of Ishgard." XD I SO want that in a cutscene now! Complete with the trading insults on chocoback as he rides away with her from the danger.

Poor Rhoswen though in that story, fighting for her dead crewmates. "-pirates weep with their swords, and their tears are red." Some great lines come from both of these short stories.

And I certainly wasn't expecting Nanamo to be the focus of the second tale. Or to be involved in the actual summoning of the Twelve. And then calming the crowd like the little ball of awesome she is. (And she was only 16 at the time?!)

Also, how you end up with 5 brothers running the THM guild is now explained! And they seem primed to be the Sultana's allies if/when we get into stories that deal more with the city states' internal matters. I am looking forward to that.

About the above, so I'm not the only person who was surprised he has an adopted son? lol Ok, good.

Though I really feel like I've read that name before. Like that NPC does exist in the game somewhere, and I ran across him but didn't have reason to take much notice. Anyone know if he's around somewhere?

So far, I'm loving this whole anniversary thing, really. Its so great that I could actually see the characters in the game acting like this. In all the hubub of becoming a Warrior of Light and Eikon-slayer, I guess I didn't really stop to notice how well they'd been characterized and how much I'd taken it for granted.

And these stories prove that characterization and depth is on purpose and the devs actually care and havn't forgotten about it and it gives me such optimism about future expansions! ^_^

You can go thru the game without noticing much by way of lore, but if you actually stop to look there is so much hidden depth, its nuts. Especially for an MMO.

I can't wait for the next short story!

(Whew! I kinda gushed a bit towards the end... well that whole post,, actually. ^_^' eheh Apologies. I'm just so excited!)

I don't think the frame you're looking for exists. The moment the status is shown it's already covered in light.

On second thought. Was there a symbol of the 12 on the Nald status in 1.0? I'm assuming not, since the NaldThal symbol is on Thal (it's still there). Since Thancred was in the presence of a pillar of light, he was in the presence of a symbol. No symbol on Nald means he was definitely in the Ossuary.

Actually Nald'thal's glyph was on both statues in 1.0 (in both the Sacrarium and the Ossuary), given the fact that they represent the dual aspects of the Traders. Of course in ARR the Sacrarium is closed off due to reconstruction being undertaken, so at the moment only Thal's statue is accessible, but in 1.0 both were definitely accessible by players.

Enkidoh is right, it was on both statues, one of the NPCs even went as far to say something telling you not to forget to pray to both statues

Well, then it's still possible the video doesn't contradict I guess ^^.

Yeah I thought so too when I read about the Sultana praying but then remembered the 2 symbols. Luckily for SE like you said the statue is bathed in light so we can't play the "ha, gotcha" card. There was however a slight difference in Milvaneth and the Ossuary, Milvaneth was a slight bluer stone least that's how it looks in my old screenshots so its hard to tell in the End of an Era CS since the light is so bright.

But as blackjackets said the biggest surprise from the read is that Raubahn adopted a Lalafell named Pipin Tarupin. Not sure if this lends any credence to my Edvya being a Lalafell adopted by a Hyur Baldric Thorne theory but its still a nice revelation that one race can adopt another, even if one is from Ala Mhigo.

Pipin was a lalafell? I guess the name fits their rhyming scheme for naming... I just assumed from the 'lend me your back' line that he was a hyur.

It's interesting. There Def seems to be a tradition of hyurs and lalafel adopting each other in Uldah
