I was iLvl 73 for Syrcus Tower and people raged that my iLvl was too low?

There was (intentionally) some room left for carry parties. But you can't expect other people to carry you and normally you should not behave in such a way.
My most infuriating experience in DF were when a tank decided that he can spiritbond in HM dungeons, and he went with the whole set, both right side (that I normally don't really care) and *left* side. Yes, he passed "minimum requirements" and I (as a healer) honestly tried to pull it off, but when he died from oneshot 3 times in a row, I told him goodbye.

Spiritbond horror stories don't have any relevance to legitimately undergeared players trying to gear up through content most players sleep through. The average i90 player plays like a damn i70 player these days anyway, because there is no need to put forth effort with everyone so overgeared.
