I wouldn't pay attention to haters, I don't. I recently have been gearing an alt of mine and people yelling at me too for being too low geared for things before I can prove I know what I'm doing. I just stay quiet. I was in ST last week with my hubby and a FC mate and was being put up for Harassment kick for being low geared. It got dismissed but still was just sad.
In DF you will meet some of the biggest jerks and some of the nicest people. One run you'll get told you're the best healer they've had, the next you're the worst they've seen. Just gotta roll with it, it's a game.![]()
The only class I'd argue that i70 isn't enough is Dragoon.
Our Mdef is absolutely pitiful, and some attacks will obliterate a DRG's HP extremely fast.
I'm i96, and I can get hit for 50% or more of my HP in a single hit. If I take aggro for a split second, an enemy can easily hit me for 2.5k+
In regards to your OP, i73 is enough. People have just gotten so used to overgearing content by 20+ levels, that they can't comprehend the fact that it's not a pre-requisite. I loathe people like that.
I thought you couldn't glamour something to look like another piece of gear that has a higher ilvl?

This is only true for pre-50 gears, as long as the equip level is the same you can glamour something higher. AF1 being lv50 equip IIRC can be glamoured to i110 gear as it's also lv50 equip
(Apologies if that explanation isn't very coherent, it's rather late and I'm tired)

"Alot" is not a word. Allot is but it's unlikely to be what you want, try "A lot".
Ah, gotchya. That makes sense. This is only true for pre-50 gears, as long as the equip level is the same you can glamour something higher. AF1 being lv50 equip IIRC can be glamoured to i110 gear as it's also lv50 equip

It is because most people are experienced and run it because they are working on their iL100+ gears , and do not want to be carrying new players that aren't geared.
That said, there is nothing wrong with you DF'g since it meets the requirement.
However, I do highly suggest you go find an active hunt group, and spend a night hunting. Couple of hours of active kills will be plenty for you to gear up to iL90.
To be full iL90, you will need 290 allied seals, and iL90 weapon (Zenith relic). To obtain 290 seals via hunts are easier then you think, when Bs are 5 seals (every 30 mins in all zones), As are 20 seals (3 hrs), and S = 50 seals (3 days)

Ew, so it goes on the equipment level rather than the item level? That's... kind of silly. This is only true for pre-50 gears, as long as the equip level is the same you can glamour something higher. AF1 being lv50 equip IIRC can be glamoured to i110 gear as it's also lv50 equip

Ohh cmon, they are just too mainstream to this game
I cleared T8 FIRST TIME as WHM with... i70 weapon(i86 avg), not even did Coil(1-5 as WHM)

i 7 0
i70

It's all skill, remember the world's first T9 kill, almost all with i90 gear

Hmm pretty sure the first t9 kill is around i95+ all materia enchaned gear which push them to i100+ lvl hp. Skill is very important yes but you want gears to back them up. And honestly if one have the skill one would also know the importance of up to date gear unless it is to prove you can do it with low lvl gear like those Titan hard mode with swim suit test. And when you say it like that how easy will a ST run be if an entire alliance is using i73 lvl gear?
