I do this too.If I'm there for armor I'll check out others on the same job to see what they are currently wearing so I know if I have competition. Also, people wear glamours a lot in ST so I sometimes check because of that. I'm not checking for ilvl, though. Mine is high enough that I'm not too concerned with anyone else's.
I am not sure what it really matters. I was in one group short 4 people for some reason they never got replaced. We cleared all the bosses no trouble. I know some of them were i100. But that means we could have had 4 level 1s and still cleared.
Unless you are wiping at a boss. As we only know they complained not how the run was. Is there any real need to shame people in chat. Look them up on lodestone make a character and talk nicely to them. And people wonder why we can't have nice things.
Spiritbond horror stories don't have any relevance to legitimately undergeared players trying to gear up through content most players sleep through. The average i90 player plays like a damn i70 player these days anyway, because there is no need to put forth effort with everyone so overgeared. There was (intentionally) some room left for carry parties. But you can't expect other people to carry you and normally you should not behave in such a way.
My most infuriating experience in DF were when a tank decided that he can spiritbond in HM dungeons, and he went with the whole set, both right side (that I normally don't really care) and *left* side. Yes, he passed "minimum requirements" and I (as a healer) honestly tried to pull it off, but when he died from oneshot 3 times in a row, I told him goodbye.
video games are bad

I don't get it why people don't want to do some effort to gather a bunch of level 80-90 gears through normal dungeon runs. Between daily roulettes, hunts (even if you only get 100 seals a week), and hard mode dungeon - getting a set of lvl 90 gears will take a mere days. As casuals, it will take you about one week, semi hardcore players could get it in mere 2-3 days. Getting your level 90 relic weapon is one weekend worth of work for most players. If you are healers, putting a bunch of vitality accessories would greatly help your HP pool.

While nobody likes to have someone not pulling their weight, it's just ST. People get carried through it all the time while most gear hits the floor. I am more annoyed with the i110 player who dies 3 times each fight. Just know that you are getting carried.
ST is pretty faceroll as it is yet people in i90-100+ are already getting carried in there. If you can queue for it, you're fine as long as you know what you're doing.
People are seriously complaining about iLvl in CT? Like, I went in the other day with Ifrit's Harpoon (glamour'd as Liberator), DL Cuirass (glamour'd as Allagan Cuirass) and other really comparative low gear to what I normally have. No one cared, no one said a thing and no one even looked at my stats (sad for me, I was hoping for some laughs). Point being, those who do that have poor self-esteem and feel the need to tear others down. That or they had really really bad previous runs. ST is almost pure mechanics and unless you're still using iLvl60 Weapons or less, I wouldn't worry about it as long as you follow the mechanics.
ST is pretty easy so dont worry about it too much but i personally would gear myself up a bit more. i90 gear costs measly 20+ allied seals (pretty much a single rank a mob), myth stones are very easy to obtain via duty roulette and there are dungeons who drop i80 gear which you could farm or coil 1. So you can be pretty much i90 in like one evening game session. Feels a bit wrong to skip so much content and go straight for ST but ultimately no one could or should blame you for it.

Caring about ilvl in syrcus tower. My sides. OP just die a little inside then laugh a little about it after the run.
There's a lot of high ilvl players but during the first portion of the week I get people that can't into ST mechanics. I have to wait until the weekend to get queue'd with players that can into consecutive clears regardless of ilvl.

Pretty much this. When I go into ST, I expect to see some less geared people in there.
It's fun when those people put DPS over things like dodging Ancient Quakega. I don't heal people like that. I would sooner have a new-ish or less geared person that's actually trying to do the dungeon correctly than someone that's trying to facetank everything to get high numbers on their parser or whatever the hell they're doing.
You can't glamour gear to something a higher ilevel. :P
