My biggest beef with the 2.3 bigfish (not even 2.2 ones) are the fact that a lot of them only have 2 hour windows. And when I say 2 hours I mean 2 Eorzea hours which is only like 2-3 real time minutes.

    Take Twitchbeard for example:
    1. Must be mooched with full moon sardine
    2. Must be during clear/fair weather
    3. Can only be caught between 4am-6AM (at 6am you can no longer catch full moon sardines too mooch it)

So now I basically have to have RNG luck to even get an HQ sardine in those 2 hours, and then hope the sardine actually catches a twitchbeard and not a nautilus. So far, this has not happened. This is not the only fish that has this 2 hour window. Captain's Chalice in Western Lanoscea, Joan of Trout in Upper Lanoscea, Vip Vipper in South Shroud all suffer the same fate.

I can deal with HQ/NQ/desynth rng, I can deal with dumb weather requirements, but this 2 hour window thing needs to go. I end up wasting so many foods because I only need them for about 5 minutes and I have 26 minutes left trying to figure out where I can go to make good use of the rest of the time.

Lol you think that's bad try the Sinker (or what I like to call the STINKER) in South Shroud...
I didn't have issues with Gobfather though, caught it on my first attempt.

As a casual with not much time to put into the game, I've all but given up on it completely. I think that's really the point of this thread, it's casually extreme this fishing is..
That's why I do most of my dedicated fishing time on Sundays. Just don't have enough time during the week to sit down and play weather/time/zone tetris for each fish lol
