Fishing suppose to be casual right? WRONG!!!!!

I've given up on this.. for almost 2 weeks straight now I've gotten "The fish has gotten away" while trying to get Olgoi. I'm fully melded and have the best jewels (rose gold with 5 per & 5 gathering on each), ilvl70 rod, ilvl70 hat and yet I've gotten 7-8 misses in a row, basically spent millions on it altogether.. meanwhile someone sitting beside me with just the ilvl70 hat and barely any melds caught 2 of them in the space of 15mins.

Working as intended..

Don't even get me started on the fact that in order to get the ilvl75 rod I would not only have to have a miracle with these fish but spend 5 million on fieldcraft 3's that me as a fisher alone cannot get without a crafting class.

Actually, I agree with the poster above in the sense that the dev team really doesn't care about fishing. It's at the bottom of the ladder compared to all the other gathering and crafting jobs, so to speak. I'd be shocked to see any fisher QoL update happen well...ever. CUL is only slightly above fishing in importance to the devs. Our master crafter book is meh. Only upside is it's easy to get our new headgear/mainhand(s).

I'm a fishing fan so it makes me sad to post this.

crafting in a FF universe is never casual. At least if I spend a day trying to just do provisions I'll get there one day.

Not to be a downer but from my experience with SE and fishing.. I don't think Yoshida really cares about it, and who ever is in charge doesn't really care to field other people's feedback.

With you there, I was one of the louder voices during all of that. The overall impression I and the rest of the diehard fishing community have received is basically, "Look, we really don't care about any of you."

Also Shougun, there actually was a response to the tacklebox request. A single devpost in the french forums in a thread asking for tackleboxes was met with the standard, "We have no plans to implement this." Nothing else was ever said.

And secondly, I found that when I was on the lower end of the gathering requirement, I caught far more Olgois, then when I maxed my gathering.

At 350~ gathering, I caught 9-10 olgois with maybe 3 "fish gets away".
At 390~ gathering, I have only had "fish gets away" on about the same number of attempts.

Way to miss the point. They're saying the npc won't take a mix of hq and nq. So if you get 2 nq then an hq, you're still a fish short.
