Fishing suppose to be casual right? WRONG!!!!!

I think the dev team went a little bit overboard with their RNG this patch.

I currently have 383 gathering which is max without free company buff.

Olgoi-Khorkhoi is required to get the Supra rod - here is a bit of RNG goodness for you.

1st Condition the weather must be heatwave.

2nd Condition bait: the bait 1/5 chance to get the fish you need

3rd Condition the fish you land only has 15% chance to be HQ (assuming you get the correct fish)

4th Condition: Olgoi-Khorkhoi, shares a mooch with 2 other fish. Now assuming everything aligns perfectly for you and you get quadra RNG goodness.

5 --- the fish is on your rod BAMMM FISH GETS AWAY... FISH GETS AWAY 3 days later (real life days) Fish gets away fish gets away fish gets away fish get away.... you now have to beat the 5th rng tier of god. To actually lander this gargantuan big fish of troll level proportions.

on a side note all the big fish are extremely hard to get on the line you should at least be able to reliable get them with max gathering :/. Not wait until 2.4 to get new tools to finish maxing out the logs for old fish.

Yeah. Skill and stats should ALWAYS matter. If they won't matter at the high end (besides simply being the gate you have to jump in order to try at all), then what's the point of having them?

Sad thing is Olgoi is actually one of the easier, if not easiest of the new big fish to catch. As stupidly rare as it is, the others are that much worse. There needs to be some way for Fishers to have more control over their fish, because at this point the lotto-level RNG has completely overpowered all aspects of the class, including fun.

I read some posts about people catching 3 Olgoi in 15 minutes and I was thinking that it'll be easy... Well.. I guess they got really, really, really lucky. Or then I have no luck. I just want a new fishing rod... /sobs. :'(

they really need to just redo the whole fishing system it's boring and way to rng based to have any kind of fun with it, They need to make bait that targets only a few fish and add a fish fighting system in.

Fishing is casual. Obtaining the ultimate fishing rod and becoming the God-King of Fishing is not.

You should of gone for the rod first after I got the rod the hat was done in 2 nights of SS fishing.

It does not make you god I have the stats that are obtainable with the rod with rod then a free company buff maybe but the rod itself for the amount of effort provides very little increase.
