SE's most difinitive statement yet on parsers

I think the problem with the analogies of stop watches and other quality of life examples is that SE said "you may not use these". So in the sprinting example the organization tracking you said "you may not use a watch". Therefore the analogy no longer works, even if it would make sense to use one.

Perhaps when they add officially supported modding will we be able to "officially" rest these issues, but until then I think its clear parser are not allowed and it doesn't matter they are helpful or not inherently evil.


Edit: Though I do think SE wants to not make this a major issue, so long as you dont say "I use this parser, from this site, this is my character name" I doubt they will try very hard to punish you lol. Say radar on the other hand..
