You can apply the same logic to so many things (someone mentioned running earlier, another astute observation).
Maybe your stupid Onion Helm pisses me of. I don't care if it's classic, it looks dumb, and it annoys me. Maybe it pisses me off that a lot of people have them (and they were all over at launch). Does that mean it's worth chucking from the game? No, it darn well means I need to grow up and get over myself.
And in the case of things like jump, there's practical value there, not just aesthetics, making it even more absurd - if anything, you should be arguing against Onion Helms and stupid outfits before even thinking about going after a practical gameplay element.
