Why is jumping always associated with WoW?

There's the obviously vocal opposition to jumping providing WOW as their banner in their crusade against it. Obviously since Blizzard messed up how they did jumping, NO ONE can do it better. EVER.

There is the more reasonable bunch who don't see a reason for it because its a Final Fantasy. The inconvenience of constantly detouring around ankle and knee high obstacles appeals to them. It's at least a more reasonable a stance than the people who shout against it because of what another game did with it.

And then there are the outliers who don't like it just because for one reason or another.

The best suggestion I've seen for adding jumping by others:
A good animation.
Reasonable jump height. (no Mario jumps)
Delay between jumps (can't mash or bunny hop)

That said. Used to be Jump was an attack!

Anyone with half a brain can take something, anything simple and make it annoying. You and what you just did are the perfect example of it, what you just did is a fine example that it isn't jump that is at fault, it is the person using it. In that case, they would most likely just find another way to annoy you, like flood your chat box or run in circles or something. lol.

Seriously, instead of trying to force other people to play how you think they should, why don't you spend your time and energy asking for a mega black-list that completely hides their characters from your virgin eyes, since a mere 50 people on the forums begging SE to retract the jumping implementation is considerably small next to the number of players they would like to have playing their game, that don't want to be told how to play a game they will eventually be paying a monthly fee for.

agreed... although it is nice to see new stuff added... but i would rather see the game stay more FF style
