    Thank you. This exactly.

You can apply the same logic to so many things (someone mentioned running earlier, another astute observation).

Maybe your stupid Onion Helm pisses me of. I don't care if it's classic, it looks dumb, and it annoys me. Maybe it pisses me off that a lot of people have them (and they were all over at launch). Does that mean it's worth chucking from the game? No, it darn well means I need to grow up and get over myself.

And in the case of things like jump, there's practical value there, not just aesthetics, making it even more absurd - if anything, you should be arguing against Onion Helms and stupid outfits before even thinking about going after a practical gameplay element.

This is just a common theme in MMOs that traditionally have not had jumping. I've seen it in the Guild Wars community, FF Online and Ryzom. ALL those communities put their games in a bubble of perceived 'specialness' that just can't be 'ruined' by such basic features as jumping. Never mind that it's a standard now, never mind that the grand majority of players in general (not fan boys and girls) expect it, their games are too darned special and different to be lowered so.

Always they ask for limits IF such a thing were implemented, these are tiresome complaints that have very little value to the overall gameplay and enjoyment of the game. These are probably the same people who can't handle ugly characters as seen in Aion because it ruins their precious conceived opinion of what the game world should be like.

Makes me wonder why there are such sentiments of wanting to control how others want to play, this goes to every gamer who wants to complain about how casuals or hardcores ruin their games too, how incredibly self absorbed. Proof that people just can't play a game that's given to them and figure out how to amuse themselves with it, every thing has to be tailored to you, imo that's where the REAL laziness from gamers comes from. Use your noodle once in a while to challenge yourself....
    And now getting off topic.

You know, I rather like the jump animations in WoW. But then, I actually find WoW's art style to be endearing; like a 3D stylized oil painting. And after spending three years playing FFXI, where a pebble can cause you a 45 minute detour, jumping was the single greatest thing that I'd ever been introduced to in the MMO genre.

Hate on my bunny hops, I can still do my job while spamming space bar. I played a Resto Druid -- jumping was practically part of my toolkit.

lolol... My sides.. ^_^;; I always hated that, FFXI was and is wonderful but it does have it's extra annoying quirks that made me quit and come back more times then I care to count.

I think because of the multitude of bunny hop WoW parodies which float around on youtube. The free WoW Jump spammer marketing makes it seem like all WoW people jump spam. Personally I found F2P players to be jump spammers since they're usually younger. All Blizzard did with WoW was create the "MMO Masses"

The only kind of limitation I ask for is no jumping in battle. Reason I mention this is because in Aion Rangers would exploit jump to cancel combat animations and that became the only accepted way to play the class. Single handedly made me not want to play the class.

Well thats aion. If they decided not to fix that, then..... thats a korean MMO for you, expect the same from TERA .

Jumping could have some fun implementations in combat, without the suspicion of exploits.

The way Aion handles animations isn't the way every game handles animations. It's the only MMO I know of that has everything tied directly into animations as much as it does. Clipping/Weaving applies to a lot more than just Rangers.

Meanwhile every other MMO doesn't really care because jumping is just that, jumping. It's not interrupting anything except casting.
