You're clearly playing summoner wrong then or don't understand how Summoners work, because Summoners can easily put out the most DPS in most situations, although its really close between Monk and Summoner, with Dragoon not too far behind. Only time Monks would deal more DPS than Summoners are in fights where the boss is a striking dummy (see turn 8), other than that, they're tied with Dragoons in situations where they constantly lose their stacks. If you're using the enmity bar to judge DPS, please keep in mind, around a 1/3 of a Summoner's enmity is coming from their pet. Also, Bards do the least amount of DPS. Burst DPS wise, they may be up there, but as a fight progresses and a Monk and Dragoon finishes their rotation, Bard falls to last on the DPS chart (this is assuming the party consists of people who are equally geared and equally skilled).
