That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the fact that many posters in here screaming bloody murder at this idea were the same posters that were defending the idea of putting sands/oils in hunts.

I understand the opinion of those that believe that they should only come out of coil. And before the hunts, I would have agreed with them. But unfortunately, the cats out of the bag. Taking away sands/oils from the hunt would cause more backlash than help, at this point. It would only make sense to add sands to other content, if they're going to add it to content that is basically the antithesis of coil(hunts).

Anyway, there's no optimal answer here. I'm just tired of the lord of the flies bs that's happened ever since hunts started and anything that will decrease participation in hunts and increase participation in the rest of the game would be helpful.

    More like 100 - 125
Entry level gear = gear with you go into the content, not out of the content

Q: Can you make it easier to obtain the materials to enhance items to item level 110?

A: This is referring to oil of time and sands of time, right? The development team has a plan outlining the timing with which these items would gradually spread from the top-tier of players, becoming easier to obtain with the introduction of new encounters. This plan is adjusted as we monitor player progression. Patch 2.3 will see the continuation of the Crystal Tower, and we plan to add oil of time and sands of times as rewards here. However, this doesn't mean there will be changes to their drop rate. Rather than making it possible to obtain everything right away, we’ll gradually add the items you can obtain in patch 2.3, 2.35, and 2.38.

Sands and Oil was only planned as a "Coil only" drop for 2.2, not for 2.3

If you have a player or 2 holding your static back, and removing them would end a friendship, that person was never a friend, he/she was a leech. A GOOD friend would realize that he/she is holding other players behind and be more than willing to step down so that their friends can succeed. You say it's caused alot of drama in your fc/ls, and I tell you that they were not worth the drama in the first place. I've stepped down before back in wow for a myriad of reasons(lack of time to play, real life issues, distractions) and never expected to get back into the group. I took a break for a few months, came back, got into another group, and progressed further. If anyone causes drama for others due to THEM not being good enough to clear content, then they're bad and they should feel bad, both as a player and as a person.

You are lucky if you have a good static to clear the contents with, some don't, and some don't like coil, or have the time, or different time schedule, etc.. Doesn't make them bad players, you need to get that to your shallow mind and deal with it. I feel bad for other people in your static if your behavior are always like this, but if all of you are like this, then no I don't feel bad at all.
Technically, yes! It's human nature. "You beat the hardest content in game". If you are in Allagan gear, you may be the best. You may not be the best. At the very least, you must be pretty good, and it shows in your "Full High Allagan" gear and what you achieve. That's like me going up to Michael Jordan and saying, well, you got some rings but why are you thinking you are the best? I mean, would you expect Jordan to not think he was the best in his prime or from what he achieved? "Well Michael, you won some championship rings. You just might be pretty good at basketball but idk. You must be a hardcore prick to think you are good after winning some championships."

    Just......what?

If you don't have time to do coil or don't want to do coil, that's respectable as we all have different lives and priorities of how we have fun with the game, but luck has nothing to do with getting a good static to clear content with. Most raiders in this game have had to dig and dig and dig in order to actually become part of a content clearing team because that was their focus. They go through the same things as you mentioned but just keep trying. Just by law of numbers, there are a lot more players who aren't raid capable vs players who are raid capable, just like there are a lot more people who can't become doctors vs those who can. Even if it wasn't your intention, you come off as thinking that people who actually had to put in the time and work for something all were just "magically receiving statics" or" hand outs".

Did you really just compare a bunch of gamers who followed a step-by-step video guide on how to push buttons to a world class athlete? Even the two or three groups who cleared it before a kill video was out are still just MMO players. You wouldn't give them the same level of respect as a player of an actual competitive genre.

Soldiery seems too much of a handout, seeing as you can cap it wweekly with no real effort.

Personally I'd prefer something like the original Extreme Primals questline, just using Moogle, Levi and Ramuh. Kill all 3 once a week and you get a sand or an oil at the end of it.

Soon ST will drop sands of time in 2.38 then there'll be 3 sources for sands&oil of time.
    Coil, hunts and ST.
I think that's more than enough sources for them.

Maybe the OP has been on a hunt and found it boring/depressing, like I have. I'm not even saying hunts are bad; people should be able to hunt if they want. I'd probably like it if it was what it could be without the zerg(you know, everybody in your party hunting, not sitting in mordhona till somebody in their LS shoots out coords) but the rewards are far too great in respect to the rest of the game.

Imbalance is the issue. I personally think the only way this would work is if they took soldiery from hunts, so that soldiery weren't as easy to get, but I'll get flogged by the zerg crew for even suggesting such a thing.

No matter what, we've seen that SE is gonna do what it wants, ignore this issue completely, and pretend it never happened in 2.4 when nobody will be doing hunts anymore.
