So I tried out Thav. Onion + broombush (Onion was planted between 2 Broombush), and never got a seed out of 3 harvested plants.
Either I'm super unlucky or they both don't cross eachother at all.

I did, I mostly plant with thal soil anyway since most of the high grade items yield only 1 anyway.

I guess going with the no-cross is the most probable choice then.
grade 3 has a 100% cross chance as far as i've seen. the only time it doesn't yield seeds is when there simply are none.
No guarantees though; that's just an assumption. Would be good if somebody verified the cross.

The situation described sounds like just one or two chances at getting something from the onion, depending on planting order. I can't tell given the verbal description and how some people speak casually.

If you planted the two broombushes first (B . B), and if they were by nothing when you stuck them in the dirt, then they'll have no chance of crossing with anything anyway. And then sticking the onion in between (B O B), then the onion would have a chance of breeding.

If you planted like (B . . --> B O . --> B O B), then the first broombush would not cross. The onion and second broombushes would both have chances of crossing.

So if you went with the former arrangement, then I think it's plausible that you got nothing still. If the latter arrangement, then still plausible, but unlucky.

Talking about G3 Thanalan cross breeding percentage. This is what I got:
From 4 krakka planted next to dzemael tomato: 2 sylkis bud seeds + 2 nothing
From 8 dzemael tomato planted next to krakka: 5 sylkis bud seeds + 2 midland cabbage seeds + 1 nothing
No plant was planted on its own.
So 3 nothings out of 12 chances, i.e. only 75 % crossbreed

Thav Onions + Honey Lemons = Mirror Apple + Tantalplant Seeds

I never said i was gonna do that. just said that would be a possible modus operandi for smaller fcs who aren'T necessarily rich enough to invest into a broom every 3 days :P

I'm in one of those small FC's - we have a small house and one deluxe garden plot. I bought the choco stable when they came out - and watched the condition go down and down... And yep - makes me feel guilty that we haven't cleaned up the stables yet... The stink clouds are a real problem. The big round choco eyes make me feel even worse...

I've been busy busy with the garden - we got glazenuts and broombush's grown from scratch... Next I take a gardening break for a couple weeks (it will be hard to not garden some... - garden addiction...)

It has been a long couple of months to grow broombush's and glazenuts... Next we will get some stable brooms made and tada - clean stables soonish. Bamboo - where are you? (I have to get some bamboo for our stable brooms...) and we haven't got to jute or choco food or minions yet... Eek!

Meanwhile - I'll be guilty and seeing stink clouds around my choco (Padu)... (Sigh) poor Padu...

on a side note, I'm gonna be gone for tw weeks starting the 12th, so i won't have time to try it out, but has anyone tried curiel root + nymeia lily yet? (growing nymeias atm but won't have time to do the curiel cycle or crossing them before leaving)
also, is there a way like to freeze your subscription as to not lose game time while you're on holiday?
