    What benefit would these "advanced" jobs have? Aren't they just the same job with a different name? 3 of them actual exist as the same class with a fancier name (Devout/Sage/Master) and one of them is the same name (Paladin/Knight、 which currently conflicts with the Japanese name of ナイト). I believe that these advanced jobs would be largely unnecessary since any buff you can allot to the advanced jobs, you can just attach to the original job.

    Not really. Using devout / white wizard as an example, you'd look at a significant MND boost and new abilities as part of that job upgrade, which a white mage wouldn't have. (Think how a level 50 conjurer stands against a level 50 whm) Keeping that in mind, it might be an awesome chance as well for abilities used in 1.0 (Sacred Prism for example) to be reworked into the game.

    The way the system is now, it'd require either a different job crystal or a way to upgrade the current one into the new job. Probably be a little convoluted, I'm thinking. For example at Devout / White Wizard, you can add a trait at 55 that increases base MND by 12 and then have their AF2/3 to reflect a "high" level of their profession. That saves the effort of creating a new branch to what we already have. That's only for jobs that basically don't change when they upgrade.

    Now looking at the other ones;
    Arcanist > Summoner > Evoker
    I have a feeling this would be very close to what Yuna in FFX did. Which in the current setting for FFXIV, be utterly worthless. Basically replacing your party with the summon is not a good method in an MMO. Morphing your character into the summon is equally as foolish. Unless it'd be closer to what Beastmaster should be.

    Lancer > Dragoon > ...Holy Dragoon? (rofl)/Dragon Knight
    I don't have any comment on this type of transition.

    Archer > Bard > Ranger
    This simply won't work. Ranger is supposed to be a pure DPS class. This would imply Bard losing their songs, and such, losing their spot in a raid to something else. Or, it'd be the only DPS you bring because they don't ever have to stop moving to maintain their DPS.

    Thief > Ninja > Assassin
    I view this as a downgrade. I also believe it's kind of weird to have a class that doesn't really have many roots replacing two jobs with more presence than itself. Also, Ninja is an assassin anyway so this kind of upgrade is probably unnecessary.
