This isn't an assumption, save the fact that it will be the -only- way to get a 2-person chocobo. There might be another way.

Yes, that is the only fact. Everything else is an assumption. And that is what people are getting mad about.

I doubt people would get mad if marriage is still a viable way to get the mount, in addition to recruit a friend. That that is what we have NO information about. People are just assuming that recruit a friend is the ONLY way when we have no evidence to support this claim.

I hope Marriage/Recruit-a-friend isn't the only way. I'd prefer there be a way to get one in-game without those two methods via actual achievement. Otherwise, you'll see what you saw in RIFT - people will get married, 'cause chocobo.

Not to be that guy, but you are being quite presumptuous yourself assuming it isn't the only way. That's not a fact either, merely your assumption.

The only difference is your assumption is through rose tinted shades, as SE have previously been very keen on exclusive items that come from paying more money. Sadly this mount being exclusive to this scheme would not contradict their track record at all and I would not be surprised to learn that it is an exclusive reward. I don't care either way as I've tried getting my friends to play this game and don't believe the promise of galloping into combat on a Chocobo with me would be the selling point.

I agree. People are under the belief there may be a similar chocobo from the marriage system but unless that includes some fee I struggle to see them just handing out a free mount for an activity anyone can perform in-game with a willing participant. Unless they plan on having people fill out a form similar to that of FFXI where you had to prove you were a couple in RL etc.

Teleporting just to "New Adventurers" means you can only teleport to those with the seed symbol...

The soundtrack minions were intended as bonus items for people that were going to buy the soundtracks anyway. Not minions that you could buy and get soundtrack as a bonus.

When they give an exclusive bonus for an out-of-game purchase (or any such 'promo' really), they do it with the intent that someone will make the purchase for that 'bonus' item instead. If it were truly just an 'extra', it would be something you could obtain through other means.
Looking back at old posts, some people look to have made the decision to import that stupidly expensive FF Anniversary Collection (at least partially) due to the 'bonus' moogle earrings.
I wonder how many copies of those soundtracks would have been sold had they not included the minions as opposed to how many actually ended up being sold; I'd suspect markedly less.

Don't do digital purchases in general, and was looking to buy a collector's edition in the first place, but with the PC version being so limited, I had to resort to a PS3 version. Since they couldn't just have one copy give access to both platforms (of course not), once the grace period was up, I had to buy a copy of the PC version. So I suppose it's more accurate to say I pissed away extra money to get the PC regular edition since I'd already pre-ordered the PS3 Collector's Edition. ;-\
