I am close to finishing Novus. Only 5 alexandrite to go! I decided to meld up the scroll yesterday (had been holding off while waiting to see what I got from spirit bonding). I had to buy a few Crit and Det IIs but had plenty of IIIs. I failed one Det III but got all 8 Det IV on with no failure. Totally lucked out. I don't have enough Crit IV atm so might have to buy some. Hopefully won't fail too much.


Oh and I'll share another dream I had.

Niq and I are doing this quest and it is one of the new ones where you get clues but no map or anything. There is a rumour that this guy has figured out the next step in the quest but is keeping the secret hidden. We decide to go visit him in the real world and see if he will tell us what it is. According to his profile he is taking part in this gaming tournament so off we go - Rogue and Niq road trip style!

We get to this hotel/resort with the main hotel building with a carpark out front and then this big grass sports field and another building on the other side. The other building is like this rec centre and that is where the tournament is being held. It is some kind of virtual reality/occulus rift simulated thing two guys hooked up to the system and lots of guys hanging around, drinking and cheering.

So we say we are looking for [inset generic online name] and this big beefy dude rocks up. We say we want some help with the quest and dude goes all sleazeball mode like "oh sure sure, sweethearts. Yeah, ill help you little girlies out. You just meet me in game and we can like get to know each other and have some fun and stuff". He come on super hard and super creepy, so Niq and I share an eyeroll over his ickyness and say no thanks and walk off. The guys all like wolf whistle and shout stupid things.

As we make our way back to the car Niq says she is gonna stop off at the hotel then meet me at the car (I figured restroom break). I am just about at the car when I hear behind me "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!". I turn and Niq is sprinting shouting "Go Go Go GO GO GOOOOO". We race to the car get in and Niq says "FLOOR IT" (note, it is kinda hard to floor it when you are parallel parked, you have to like reverse and turn and go back and forth and stuff). I look out and there is just this flood of guys racing towards us across the field, so I start the car and head off. The guys are yelling and taking off their shoes and throwing them at the car. I turn to Niq and ask ".... what did you do?"

"Oh ... I found the fuse box and flipped the switch on their power and wi-fi"

The dream partially dissolves and when it returns I have proceeded in the quest and now possess a ring that points out a beam of light to a certain direction (like in Howl's Moving Castle). The direction points to the coast and a lot of people are running up and down to see where it leads, but I think it is pointing to a place across the water, so I hire a boat and sail across to this tiny island.

The beam of light stops in mid-air. It doesn't point to the ground or to the sky, just some point about chest height. I remember that the quest said something about moonlight, so I need to wait for nightfall. I go down to the boat, secure it tightly against tide or storm, then go back to the spot and proceed to desynth fish .....

and I wake up.

Exciting! I have finished my Holy Shield Novus and i’m still working on my Curtana Novus. I need to infuse 40 more stats till i’m finished. I was a bit unlucky with the Savage Might Tier 4 (Determination) materia. (T_T ) /cry

I wanted to infuse 31 Accuracy and 22 Parry into my Curtana, while infusing 13 Parry and 9 Determination into my Holy Shield. I only needed a few Tier 4 Determination, but i failed the infusion of the last Determination materia 3 times in a row… I had to buy the Tier 4 Materia for the last infusion which cost me 300k each. 900k, down the drain. /cry.

I’m /praying that i have better luck with the materia for my Curtana…

I’m not very motivated to upgrade another Relic to Novus… It’s incredibly time consuming and with a bit of bad luck, it can also be very expensive. (So far, I went from 1.3k all the down to a little over 300k due to the materia i had to buy for both the Curtana and the Holy Shield... (T_T ) )
