This counters what I said... How?
Dungeons are only fun the first time, maybe two. Especially as a DPS class, you get to wait around for 5-15 minutes between each one, then do Thousand Maws for the 16th time! Woooo!
lolwat who the hell is countering?
Leves are quests by the way.
Also you speak for yourself, on the fun part.
Hopefully u will never find your way to an asian grinder.
Been playing Bard since launch and still haven't gotten blood for blood. Once it got nerfed, I no longer cared. I can still dps 300+ and I rarely raid so I don't really care.

I know what you mean with your sarcasm, and I agree, bu it made me think, that with the game is now designed since it became ARR, it coudl have no leveling, just quests to promote area exploration, and unlock skills by doing certain class quests akin with how the job quests work, then the rest of the game would be dictated by the item level of the character, it certainly wouldn't change the gameplay or the player experience of the game, except the sense of accomplishment while raising the item level would substitute the sense of accomplishment of leveling up.
In fact I think would actually work better with the current focus on endgame, which is essentially a time sink to raise the item level.
Then someone will come to the forums and ask why they have to do thatI know what you mean with your sarcasm, and I agree, bu it made me think, that with the game is now designed since it became ARR, it coudl have no leveling, just quests to promote area exploration, and unlock skills by doing certain class quests akin with how the job quests work, then the rest of the game would be dictated by the item level of the character, it certainly wouldn't change the gameplay or the player experience of the game, except the sense of accomplishment while raising the item level would substitute the sense of accomplishment of leveling up.

then going further with Gramul sarcasm... why even have gameplay on a videogame?!
Even though, I could see a RPG purely skill/gear based without levels where you get the characters skills and stats from the get go, but as yoshi had said on some interviews, the total amount of information given to the player directly that way could feel overwhelming and the game would be not newbie-friendly.
Not that I think the game should be as newbie-friendly as it is, but I know learning curves and in-game tutorials that you don't even know they are tutorials (as getting skills slowly is) are really important for the game success.
It may be boring, but it's also easy and quick, considering how much exp you get from leves pre-15 and dungeons post-15.

Get some friends together and do levesI needed swiftcast for my sch, and didnt feel like lvling blm again (leveled to 50 on my main...my sch is an alt) so me and a few of my crew got together, discusses shinnanigans, and did leves. I got lvl 19 to 26, then even got my lvl 23 archer to 29 in like, 4-6 hours...even got a hunt...all while just goofin off with my buds.

I love getting to go back and learn other classes, (especially through the early levels where you advance quickly so are continuously getting new stuff to play with). It's among the most fun parts of the game.
It could be even more fun, though, if we had more quests in the game. For a game that's geared towards leveling up multiple times for multiple classes, they should have far more quest content than they currently do. Once we use up our limited sidequests, additional classes only get one quest every 5 levels. Sure, there are plenty of other ways to level up, but none of those other ways have the storytelling capability of questing. I'd like to see another continuing quest line or two specific to each class.

It's not too hard and it's incredibly useful. It can be boring but it is worth doing in the end. Here is four skills I use on my bard from other classes.
Invigorate: A must have! Skills do drain a lot of TP, especially the AOEs. This is basically free 400 TP back. Once I hit the 600 tp left mark I always use it to increase the amount of time I can fight during a tough boss.
Second Wind: Mostly a panic button choice. Heals a decent amount and helps the healers if you accidentally get hit by a AOE or hit by a room wide spell.
Blood For Blood: Who wouldn't want extra damage to their a attacks? The downside of it is completely negated by the fact that we are long ranged.
Internal Release: This is another must have. You get it at Pugilist level 12 which is simple to get to. Along with Straight Shot's passive you can have up to 20% additional crit rate every minute. On a class that is reliant on the stat, this is amazing to have.
