    Cross-class leveling is BORING and a BUZZ-KILL

So I got super psyched once I hit Level 50 with my Bard and started doing some of the new dungeons. They were epic.

Then I realized (through forums) that I should level up Lancer to Level 34 for some of those skills to be effective in end game.

What a buzz kill. Killing ladybugs after doing those dungeons is really tough. I got to Level 8 and had to quit due to boredom.

Am I alone in thinking like this??!?

I know right?! Why can't this be like WoW and we go straight to max level, just by suscribing? That's a great idea!

what i've been saying. its actually pointless other then a time sink because the gear levels for you.
your not alone took me months to level my ACN, leveling is nothing but a time sink dont teach you anything since you can do it solo if you wanted.

I know what you mean with your sarcasm, and I agree, bu it made me think, that with the game is now designed since it became ARR, it coudl have no leveling, just quests to promote area exploration, and unlock skills by doing certain class quests akin with how the job quests work, then the rest of the game would be dictated by the item level of the character, it certainly wouldn't change the gameplay or the player experience of the game, except the sense of accomplishment while raising the item level would substitute the sense of accomplishment of leveling up.

In fact I think would actually work better with the current focus on endgame, which is essentially a time sink to raise the item level.

Then someone will come to the forums and ask why they have to do that

then going further with Gramul sarcasm... why even have gameplay on a videogame?!

Even though, I could see a RPG purely skill/gear based without levels where you get the characters skills and stats from the get go, but as yoshi had said on some interviews, the total amount of information given to the player directly that way could feel overwhelming and the game would be not newbie-friendly.

Not that I think the game should be as newbie-friendly as it is, but I know learning curves and in-game tutorials that you don't even know they are tutorials (as getting skills slowly is) are really important for the game success.

They are optional in the end, but I have to agree at how boring it is. Especially if the skill you want is a mid to high level one.

Be glad there's more leveling options + the dungeons give more ex than when the game 1st came out

I guess what I'd like to know is how ESSENTIAL is it that I level up a LANCER at these early stages of "end game"?

I literally just hit 50 today and did the two dungeons you do on the main scenario. Once the credits ran, all I've done is started leveling this Lancer...
