This is true, if im not mistaken there wont be any class upgrades at all,
however 1 class will unlock (say) a specific job.
So that job will most likely have nothing to do with actual clas spells at all,
instead it will get either advanced or simmilar spells, or even more specific "Job" based spells.
So if Con unlocks Whm later on, there wont be any "Nukes",
dots maybe but no nukes unlike present setup.
Or atleast this is how i understood SE information about the upcoming "Jobs"

I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
I lol'd at that xD Thanks! Didn't even think of Rocky at that moment but now it came to my mind lmao
Come on people, complaining about getting Raise too early? They're actually making worthwhile changes and adding more spells and people still complain. Give it a rest already. Just wish threads like these could be locked, they don't do anything but complain and do not provide any constructive feedback.

Dear god this is exactly what's wrong with the game and it's not necessarily the game itself. In FFXI WHM, RDM and SCH get raise at the lowest point in their career when partying really ramps up (25-38) which is out of 75(99) levels -- It's not too low, and if we continue to complain about every single minute detail this game is going to become even more of a mess instead of being fixed.
sigh /facedesk
I agree with the low level at which we get raise, and so will you all when you die and realize that if you don't have a raise, you're armor is going to go to shit all the time with return. Which may not be a big deal for a high level char, but it's a big deal for lower class, especialy those in small groups or solo.
In this thread: people don't read dev notes.
Let's see:
So, when you get K.O.ed, you get the R14 raise on you you'll suffer the above Penalties. Which is similar to the current Return/Raise effects.Death Penalty and Raising
The introduction of instanced raids will be accompanied by a wide range of revisions to areas such as the death penalty, Raise spells, and the Return command.
Death Penalty
The penalty for being KO'd, namely the effects of Weakness and Brink of Death, will be revised as follows:
Weakness
Players who are raised will be afflicted with the Weakness status, which has the following negative effects:
25% HP reduction
25% MP reduction
Brink of Death
Players who are KO’d when under the effect of Weakness and are subsequently raised will be subjected to the Brink of Death status, which inflicts the following negative effects:
50% HP reduction
50% MP reduction
50% attack power reduction
50% magic potency reduction
50% defense reduction
50% magic defense reduction
A further penalty will apply to equipment durability for players who revive themselves via the Return command.
So the current raise spells gets lowered to R14 - you still get penalties but it'll avoid Durability hits on your gear, you'd get from returning. Nice!Raising
As part of balance adjustments accompanying the introduction of instanced raids, and in order to improve the usability of Return as a mode of transport, Raise and Resurrect will receive changes to their effects, as well as the rank at which they are learned. New Raise spells will also be introduced.
Raise
Learned: Rank 14 (instead of 38)
Recast Time: 5 min. (instead of 60 sec.)
MP Cost: 101 (instead of 0)
Resurrect
Learned: Rank 14 (instead of 38)
Recast Time: 5 min. (instead of 60 sec.)
MP Cost: 101 (instead of 0)
Oh nice! Conjurer only Spell, which still gets you the Penalties but for one minute instead of five. Btw, it's Conjurer ONLY. Lemme say it again: You cannot equip it on another class.Raise II -New-
Restore the breath of life, reviving a KO’d target. Weakness and Brink of Death effects last for 1 minute.
Learned: Conjurer, Rank 38
Cast Time: 10s
Recast Time: 2.5 min.
MP Cost: 186
Exclusive to conjurer.
Oh lookie, R50 Raise, no penalties when cast on you and again: Exclusive to conjurer.Rebirth -New-
Restore the breath of life, reviving a KO’d target. Target suffers no Weakness or Brink of Death effects.
Learned: Conjurer, Rank 50
Cast Time: 10s
Recast Time: 30 min.
MP Cost: 231
Exclusive to conjurer.
So, can someone explain me again why all that whining and rage?
5min recast! Death Penalty (its just durability but oh well) you guys complaining about easy vs hard.. i'm with you but your not looking at the important part here. Once jobs come out only a class and a whm will be able to raise you effectively sure you can take a subpar res from a thaum or their job offspring but this is actually making the game 'harder', i put it in quotes because of how that term is constantly argued. lol Idk what it is im after but the easiest term to use is harder if you dont agree i don't care.

I use to like it when SE stuck to their "guns" without a whimper. It's not if they really care what "we" think, their doing it for their own gain. So to say, "We're going to drop the "raise ability" to rank 5, what do you think community?" ...Not going to happen! When did we ever get a say in the matter??
So */slap to all you Rank50 Cons from Alpha/Beta, */slap to all you Gladiators (with R50 Con) because the hard work you done is not being replaced with anything cooler than a raise spell you now can get @ r14.
So while it's still free to play, they're catering to make the best FF game ever, all the while taking the challenge we all tested it for since BETA and what most of us veterans are used to is now being founded "BORING". By the time it is pay to play, there might not be added content, nothing new to see or do and surely no new areas to visit or mobs to fight.
Is there still no poll feature in this thing, I think it would provide better feedback to SE,FFXIV-dev team if they're so incline.
What do you think?
SE: "Thank you for playing, how you continue to enjoy the world of Eorzea after we start charging, teehee". =3
