At this stage of the game it might be easier to plan to do this dungeon multiple times to fully experience it. If you have turned on the setting to auto-skip previously viewed cutscenes you'll be able to go through faster and keep up. It'll still be hectic but hey at least every time you clear you get a good chunk of myth to help gear up.

There are two sides to this whole story and I certainly sympathize with first timers who aren't able to fully enjoy these dungeons. However, the opposite side of the coin is that a lot of the people who are running this through the roulette are in there for the 500th time and just want to get their myth and move along onto something they haven't seen on a daily basis for the past 6+ months.

He didn't want to watch cutscenes, just participate. I agree with OP, the party should have filled him in a little bit and let him participate in the boss fights.

So he just wasn't paying attention to where people were going? It's not hard to watch 7 other people and go where they go. It's one thing to not explain a boss fight to a new person, but when that person can't even get to the boss because the group wasn't holding his hand telling him, "Ok we are running, so run with us," there is no one to blame but the one that wasn't paying attention.

I remember the first time running through that place. If you don't know people are going to skip half the dungeon it gets very confusing. Those places aren't self-explanatory, so they should have at least communicated a little to allow him to keep up.

All new players should just sit at the entrance then since no one seems to want to inform them of anything. Oh, wait, then you'll accuse them of leeching, that's how it goes, doesn't it.

Wow, I never said anything of the sort. I went in knowing I would be skipping cut scenes. However they must have their settings set to "Do not show cut scene if it has been seen before" I did not, so the loading of the cut scene, even just to cancel it, took over 30 seconds. Making me unable to keep up. Not to mention getting lost, and the lifts that disappear and need to be called back up. Very confusing for a first timer.

Why would I do that, those Ishgardian ingots are selling well now, and that is a far stretch on your part, I told the OP they should be thankful 7 people carried them through a main story dungeon after he waited for over 2 hours on it, even after the OP got lost by not paying attention. I never said anything about ragequitting or anything like that, I just didn't feel that the OP should have come to forums to whine about being carried.
