Echocia. That is what pc players do is bash console players. I suggest just ignore them.

How am I blabbing? You clearly leave out the ps3 in this glorified argument of yours, which is a LARGE part of my post in general. The PS4 UI is not the exact same, you don't have all the same options as the PC version.WHAT are you BLABLING about??? Currently there is NO PS4 hardware limitation (and no - game file size limit is not hardware limitation, it's limitation placed by Sony on the whole platform and actually even that could have been overcomed by simply using multiply game save files as other games did already on PS3) and I seriously doubt there will be any in forseable future! And yes - I do have and play game on all 3 platforms and I can tell you that I saw not only worse results on some PCs than PS4 but even than PS3.
PS4 have exactly the same UI as PC including expanded inventory. You're simply making idiot of yourself by such "arguments" and frankly you should go first and compare all 3 platforms thoroughly before posting such nonsense ... Please stop mixing "consoles" / PS3 and PS4 together.
Worse results on, more than likely, a far outdated pc as far as hardware is concerned. Put it next to a top line PC and you can see the difference. Quit trying to compare a commodore 64 to a ps4.
Game file size limit. Why do you think the limit is there? Oh right, hardware. I'm not making an idiot of myself but you sure are making one out of yourself.
I'm sorry that you cant think outside of the now. In two years when pc tech has far surpassed ps4 tech (it already surpasses it by miles) you wont be saying the same nonsense.
The fact remains that the memory limits of consoles (and low end pc's) hold games back from blowing out the box.
nobody is bashing, well at least im not lol

I think the other advantage to having PS3 and PS4 as part of the supported platforms, is it makes for a larger player base, which is a good thing. I think SE were smart in what they did, even if it limits the game graphically. If WOW can get by with the same graphics for 8 years, I doubt it's going to hurt FFXIV too much given how long the game has been out.You lost me when you mentioned the PS4 holding the game back, as it is mostly on par with the PC version. This won't change for the foreseeable future, but they mentioned dropping PS3 support if they feel it's necessary. It is probably the only one capable of holding the game back. I know for PCs, they get better every day, so they sky is the limit for them. The PC version also has a couple features the console versions lack, but that's not a game breaker. The PS4 is still just as good at the moment...for this game, anyway.

I haven't seen many people in this thread "bash" console players, just talk about the systems in general.
Considering I myself personally own this game on PC, Ps3, and soon Ps4 i have no reason to.

Yes, consoles are currently limiting the game and will continue to limit the game for the foreseeable future!
And it's more than just console limitations that affect the game...
I mean, is it absurd to suspect that the current GCD is 2.5 seconds, all in order to create game play parity between console and pc players?
Also, get outta here with the nonsense that controllers are better to dodge than K/M, lol
PS3 limitations
The way i see it, i turn on my PS4, which is prebuilt for gaming, which has a version written specifically for it, which has been here since 2.0 release, and other than occasional maintenance fixes etc, works side by side with pc players, allowing me to play the game with them.
I don't have to pay extra to upgrade my PC system to any kind of standard, because i can put on my PS4, which doesn't even need a disc, and play the game. With no lag, with no major issues.
What's the drama?
I can understand perhaps the PS3 issue, eventually it's going to be obselete, as are ALL devices we are currently playing on, as new/improved versions come out.
It's just the PS3 that needs looking at, I would gather that SE can state PS3 users might experience difficulties due to hardware limitations and I used to play on all three platforms and never disillusioned myself the reason I couldn't see as many people at Rev or in a fate wasn't because of bad design on SE part. I knew the system couldn't handle that much.
Ps3 yes, ps4 no. It has 4 gigs dedicated to the game. That's plenty. The ps4 is fine.
It it were a US title it wouldn't be on PS3/4. High end/PC Gaming hardware isn't as prevalent in Japan as you would think. A lot of people there have low power laptops and tablets. Gaming in done on consoles and portable gaming systems there. There is lots of easily searchable information on this subject. Japan is a huge target audience for FFXIV, so the console aspect is a no-brainier. The Chinese release will be interesting because it is the opposite with a huge PC gaming community. I do believe that the PS3/4 support does limit what can be implemented into the game.I think the other advantage to having PS3 and PS4 as part of the supported platforms, is it makes for a larger player base, which is a good thing. I think SE were smart in what they did, even if it limits the game graphically.
