And they even failed at that.
A. they don't drop anything so there's no reason to kill one over the other.
B. They can't be camped at all. You just run circles aimlessly hoping to run into one. Nor do they have spawn locations you can camp.
Do you really tried to actually farm sands in hunts at all?
What are you suggesting requires literally having no life at all. It's 100+ hours of kinda tiring repetitive task. Hardly doable in a week by even most hardcore crowd.
You should understand that all three mentioned activities are much faster to get done than 750 marks.
I am already on the edge of insanity after getting 3 sands in 5 days, and people casually calling "easy" getting equivalent of 7 sands in a week. Which just shows that they base it on their short experience and lame speculations.

So I tl;dr'd anything beyond the first page, but to answer this, if it hasn't been addressed yet: the rewards far outweigh the grind. People complained about atmas because they only gave you more work to do even after you got them, which still relies on FATEs, some still low-level FATEs.But you know what's the worst thing? Remember the atma fiasco when it first released? One of the biggest complains was that fates were no fun because its basically running around killing level 3 mobs. Well guess what, this is exactly the same because the elite mobs literally die in seconds, a minute or so if its S rank. I wonder where these people are now, probably happily farming their sands I presume. How quickly stories can change when end game gear is involved. And I thought we "hardcores" were the ones to care about gear progression. The irony.
Rank A and S marks have a chance to drop the mark logs needed to get sands. I should know, I got one from an A rank last night.

750 Marks depending on how lucky you are. i know of 4 people in my small circle that got 2 Logs each from A and S Ranks. You should understand that all three mentioned activities are much faster to get done than 750 marks.

and how are those activities much faster to get done? The log drop rates in Ramuh can be like a mount/mirror drop rate. how many CT runs does it take on average can 1 person get a Sand? I didn't say Logs would be 100% drops from either of those 2 events (Ramuh or CT2). and in both cases you definitely have to lot against 7 other people.
i have 9 of the 10 Leviathan weapons and i don't have a single mount or mirror.
CT2 takes 30-90 minutes to complete. with the generous estimate of 30 minutes every time, to get 8 for 8 people, that's 240 minutes, with a 33% drop rate, that's 12 hours for a set group to farm 8 sands for every member.
and i'm not exactly sure how long it takes to get 15000 Wolf Marks, i was just throwing a number out there. but isn't Frontline 500/450/300 per run? that averages to 415 Marks each run of Frontlines. that means you need to run Frontlines 36 times on average to get 1 Sand, at 15 minutes per run, that's 9 hours of playing to get 1.
that all seems like a lot of time to devote to a single event to get 1 item, is that really much faster?

The rest of the sentence is key. "there's no reason to kill one over the other"
IE your not camping Naul for the rare "naul tooth necklace" a ilvl 90 neck with meld slots (tried to think of a way for it to be "B" grade loot and still be worth camping.. but the point is there.. a item that is worth camping that is somehow superior to just running Brayflox a couple times and buying a ilvl neck off the merchant)
Your just killing "any hunt mark"
And for you, getting i108 in 2 weeks (even less for people who are even crazier at farming) is a-ok then ?
Call it what you want, it is easy. It's time consuming but that doesn't make it hard by any stretch of the imagination.
All of the Weekly's should be a Notorious Monster FATE. This will give them more HP so more people have time to run from another server to get to it, and it will also clearly indicate whether the Mark has spawned or not. Very tired of people hopping servers and using Shout to ask if a Mark is up or not.
The sheer fact that a very high % of the playerbase is using third party cheats, massive Teamspeak servers / linkshells and blacklisting folks who kill a Hunt Mark before they do shows that it's not designed properly for the large teenage population of this game.
Unintentionally the rules are motivating players to cheat and harass other players.
Telling players they need to change their attitudes will not change matters. Game design is the the business of convincing players to change their behavior according to the rules of the game itself. If you want the behavior to change then you have to change the rules accordingly.
I dont see any issues with the system. Its really simple to hunt without cheating-
1. Warp to a town
2. Wait for a huge group of people to warp in
3. Follow them
4. Profit?
Honestly, I do this so much. Almost every Hunt i have done so far, was just me following Mobs of people lol.
