So getting various Sands in a week isn't overdoing the catch up phase at all? Come on.

No its not, since most raiders are already around ilvl108 by now, except the ones that are already 110 / 111

It's also catch-up for less than completely hardcore groups. We have several groups that are trying T9 - they will pass it before 2.4, but w/o additional source of sands/oils there is no way they gear up themselves to full 110 which should be prerequisite to next coil.
There is no really problem for people getting all 110 at this point of time. We are catch-up phase for everyone, why at this part it still should be exclusive to ultra hardcore?

if SE is okay with people catching up, they should put Sands in CT2 and take out the loot limit.
put Logs in Ramuh EX and sell Logs for 5,000 Wolf Marks.
I think adding sands to Syrcus will get more people into ST and out of the field raging at each other.
Or just remove sands from the hunt all together. That should be a quick fix until they figure out how to adjust the system.
Which a lot of them are doing using the gear they obtained via the SCoB and are putting to an actual use to it.
Was that supposed to be an insult ?
Raiders using the best gear to tackle the next raiding content has existed since the introduction of raids in MMO. Have you been living under a rock all this time ?
That doesn't mean you can let people get access to an uncapped amount of sands either. Since 2.3 is a catch-up phase to 2.4, even with a weekly cap for sands and oils on the Hunt vendor (though I'm against them even having it in the first place), you'll get a full non weathered class ready for 2.4 which puts it on an even field with what people in a static will theoretically obtain. If they remove it from the Hunt(which I am for), you can obtain your sands and oils via ST in 2.35 and get at the very least half a completed set for 2.4.

I like the general idea of the hunts, powerful NMs that roam the land, calling out for help if you happen to run into one, or responding to such a shout, coming to aid and take them down together. When i zoned out of Gridania on patch-day, ran into a B-rank mark, told my LS about it and killed it together with a friend from the LS, i was thinking "wow, what a great and fun feature". But then i did the quest for the bills and zoned into Coerthas, wich was already a warzone at that time with ppl calling each other names and such... By now, i totally lost interrest in everything regarding the hunt, and while i still think the idea itself is a good one, how it got implemented into the game is prolly the worst they could have done...
In my opinion, they should completely rework the rewards of this system.
- Make the actual NM's drop next to nothing (like 5, 10 and 15 seals for B, A and S)...
This way all the radar-cheating so called "hunters" would loose interrest in the marks (sure, not everyone who hunts uses that radar tool, but to everyone in a hunt-LS ask yorself: "How many of the marks did i actuall find, and how many were found by others that i have no clue of how they found it. And can i be really sure they did it legit" You dont have to actually use that radar yourself to be part of the "cheating crowd" knowingly or unknowingly), and they would not be so heavily camped and killed within mere seconds after a spawn.
- ...but make the rewards from the mark bills actually worth something.
My blood started to boil and my vision turned red when i realized that daily bills send you out to CAMP FATEs YET AGAIN for lousy 2 seals. The daily bills should have been 3 B-rank marks for about 20 and 2 A-rank marks for 50 seals, and the weekly elite bill should have been an S-rank mark for 300 seals.
- And make the mark bills random for all players.
Seriously, the person who thought it was a good idea to send the whole server after the very same squishy mob should be flogged to near-death with a used toilet-brush...
----------------------------
If, with "right people" you mean "cheating radar users", then no, i'm fine with not being "connected" with them.
----------------------------
Oh, i was there as WHM for a whole Naul fight (yes, the whole 10 seconds from first engage to kill).
I got in 1 Aero and 3 Stone II in Cleric Stance. As a reward i got 1 Seal, and it did not count as a kill for the mark bill.
That was pretty much the point where i totally lost interrest in this system.
----------------------------
I kinda wish [GM]Dave would pick up the case...
*Player1's status is no longer set to afk*
Player1>> Naul spawn Coerthas Central Highlands x3 y5

Player2>> Oh, i see... On my way.
Player3>> On my way as well.
A few seconds later at Coerthas Central Highlands x3 y5
Player1>> There he is. Still unengaged.
Player2>> Yay, he's all our's.
Player3>> Haha, and the poor n00bz are actually running around and searching for him.
Player1 hits Naul for 1 point of damage.
Player1 dispells Naul's glamour and reveals [GM]Dave!
[GM]Dave>> Hail, Adventurer.
Player1>> What the...
[GM]Dave>> I wanted to congratulate you in person.
Player1>> Huh...?
[GM]Dave>> You are one of the top hunters on this server.
Player1>> Oh, thank you. I like the hunt system, and i'm working hard to track theese marks.
[GM]Dave>> I see. And according to your chat log, you can even track them through the whole zone-map.
Player1>> That, umm... Well, that was just a lucky guess...
*makes a note in player account*
Attention: Player is apparently mildly retarded.
[GM]Dave>> I see. And what about the other 10 marks before? Are you a clairvoyant?
Player1>> Yeah... What if...? You can't proove anything.
*makes a note in player account*
Attention: Player is apparently functionally retarded.
[GM]Dave>> Sure, ok, ok. Easy there.
[GM]Dave>> Anyways, you came here to hunt the dragon, right?
Player1>> Naul? Yes!
[GM]Dave>> Well, i got something even better for you.
[GM]Dave>> A really rare SSS-rank mark!
[GM]Dave>> Look behind you.
Jormungand hits Player3 for 28,496 points of damage.
Player3 was defeated by Jormungand.
Additional effect: Seal Drain!
Player3 looses 894 Allied Seals.
Player2>> OMG! I have to get away from here!
*You cannot use Teleport while engaged in battle*
Player2>> What? Why am i engaged in battle?
Jormungand hits Player2 for 31,724 points of damage.
Player2 was defeated by Jormungand.
Additional effect: Sand Drain!
Player2's Evenstar Coat reverts back to Weathered Evenstar Coat.
Player1>> Wait, please!
Jormungand hits Player1 for 29,982 points of damage.
Player1 was defeated by Jormungand.
Additional effect: Seal-cap Drain!
Player1's maximum amount of Allies Seals got reduced to 50. All Allied Seals over that cap were lost.
[GM]Dave>> Can I help you with anything else today?

I am open to this discussion and I just wanted to ask the folks here the following question:
Do you think giving the mob a much larger HP pool would help the problem we are facing with being able to reach the mob and get in some cuts for credit?
In my own opinion, I think this would help out a good deal. Also, I have stayed away from the high level marks because of the stuff that has been going on. However, I do enjoy reading everyone's opinion and it is helping me understand the situation.

Why are you so butthurted about it ? you still got gear THEY WILL NEVER HAVE. That and high allagan weapons. And possibly savage coils title I mean wake up.
Why is that ? you had a 3 months headstart to the 110 gear if you cleared Nael before 2.3, isnt that enough ? 8 pieces of gear + 1 UAT + 2 oils + 2 sands and 1 weapon each week ?That doesn't mean you can let people get access to an uncapped amount of sands either.
If you want to go full hardcore and get dozens of sands for your main and alts well its entirely up to you, it take really quite a lot of time, almost as much as the raiders invested in Coils. And imho its all fair since like we all needed 1 sand for the weapon and 2 - 3 for the gear. Its just gear in a video game, not like it should matter to that point I dont know
