Last I checked I play on Durandal and Sarga - What's your point? Not to mention it's interesting you'd see the OP after every major patch when their join date was only after one of them xD.

You don't see the pointlessness in that?
Instead of using one button to attack (fire) you just spam practically the same thing that is ice or lightning. Just pointless extra abilities that are fight specific. Fire bolt, ice bolt, lightning bolt. Same potency. What is the point? There would be no "complexity" at all. It would be more limiting if you could only use 1 elemental type on certain fights and not your full arsenal.
and op. forgot about hamlet defense, theres a lot of good stuff they aren't adding to the game, skirmish was really good, if they released a lot more missions would be awesome
Being that there have only been 3 major ones and they joined to comment on 2/3 of the major patches, that doesn't necessarily make him wrong.
Think back to every RPG that has a caster with multiple spells. You don't see the pointlessness in that?

Then think about the situations in which you'd shift around your spells rather than having only 2 truly useful elements while the 3rd is a simple DoT element. All it truly does is open up having more spells to choose from rather than just spamming Fire on Ifrit for example (which by all rights should heal him lol.)
So instead fo spamming Fire, you would spam ice. Whereas now you can use fire, ice and thunder, in other words, every damage ability does damage. instead of select few for each boss. Hence the effect of elementals resistance being more limiting than not having it. Hence their is no "increased complexity".Think back to every RPG that has a caster with multiple spells.

Ifrit, spam ice. Shiva (when released) spam fire. Yawn. Or lets go further and make some magic immune, so casters are worthless on them, just like certain ones in FFXI. (thats sarcasm btw).
More abilities will be added as level cap is raised, which according to Yoshi in previous posts/interviews, they will raise cap when new classes/jobs are introduced. Whether thats still the plan... tell ya closer to 2.4 XD TBH I think things are going to start to get really interesting come the xpac.

Game needs to go back to 1.23 thread#126432, by mostly the same people.
Always funny to see the same people come out of their hole and give the same arguments that they did in the previous threads.
It puzzles me why people who seem to hate the design of ARR continue to subscribe and play it...
from what i read, it seems like 1.23 was trying to stir themselves in the right direction but since it was crap for far too long
it was too late.
i never played it myself but ive seen videos on what looks a bit more fun than what we have now and some mechanics it had.
i would only say to this game is very watered down, to even a simpleton like me to understand what to do lol. i struggle in other games like aion, tera with crafting and all that but this game is very friendly to new MMO's...which was what yoshi had in mind: people who are new to MMO's, this is an excellent start for newbies. but on the other side; it's really so easy to get so many contents as they hold your hand.
Also, this ARR is a whole "give and take" type of thing. it rebuilt into a better mmo all around but there is missing from old content that could make it better. in due time. rome wasn't built in a day. takes patience. i feel like yoshi does a good job
trying to cater to everyone but slowly n surely.
actually, you do not have to pay your sub no longer to use these forums. you're free to sign in anytime.![]()
