    And in the lv 45 jobquests you needed only a party to enter a dungeon for 5 minutes. As example in Aurun Vale the AF chests were near the entrace.
    The required group number for the endlevel dungeons got changed from 8 to 4-8 because you didn't need a full party for just getting the AF chests.

    The end-game dungeons changed to 4 because he didn't want to rebalance it for 8 people and decided 4 man was the best number for dungeons in an MMORPG - Remember, AV, CC and DH weren't just dungeons for AF.

    yeah, this gets said a lot(and not just about XIV 1.0 but every MMO ever made, particularly XI), however....It's complete bullpucky.

    The forums were the same quagmire of whinging, accusations of elitism, and claims that content was "too easy and made for the lowest common denominator".

    There were the same "do this content this way/use this strategy/watch the guide on youtube or be called a n00b" and be drowned in a sea of verbal abuse after 1 wipe with a PUG

    The only true difference was there was no DF/PF so all the "Seeking party for X, BE GEARED, KNOW THE FIGHT" all occured in /sh, with the same advice for avoiding all this nonsense being "Find a good LS/make some friends and run with them".

    Long story short, when it comes to the community, the more things changed, the more they stayed the same.

    Funnily enough they stated the only reason they had to scrap 1.23 was because they needed to change engines to fix some core issues otherwise they wouldn't have. In the process they decided to change the game into the "standard MMO" you can download from any asian hub site.

    Old client was scrapped because it was so ill programmed and so set on it's system that it could not open itself to major changes. Not to mention a single flower pot had the same amount of weight that an NPC did. The client had awfully high requirements and not even the higher end PC's could run it efficiently.

    You have relics for mindless grinding. As someone who had 500+ keystones for all primals, it was simply a chore and not fun, especially when you had competition. Needless grinds are not required to make good content. Its actually one of my complaints in ARR is some segments with having to deal with bad grinding quests.

    Of course they're going to mention the good in this type of a thread. I swear, people just can't think clearly when XI or XIV 1.0 - 1.23 are mentioned. They're not saying that want a clone of the games, but rather to try and implement some of the things that DID work for said games. The overworld in XIV is laughable - I think adding some difficulty from the past could only improve XIV.
