And thank goodness for that. Speedruns bring out the inner jackass in some people.

normally its not me, healer, or dps to decide if we make a speedrun or not, its the tank. so now i am not forced into speedruns by others, i can enjoy the game much more. for those who really want tomes so badly i recommend to build a speedrun group.
IKR! They should just add a tele at the start of every dungeon that just takes you straight to the last boss.....and a switch that just instakills him so you don't have to waste your time actually dpsing him.
In fact when you log in to FFXIV you should automatically have all classes maxed out and your retainer should just give you every single item in the game ever so you don't have to waste your time running any of the content at all.
Wow, way to miss the entire point. Speedruns are anything but what you describe. Honestly in the long run it's the only way to keep a dungeon fun, even Tamtara is going to get boring after you've seen it the 100th time.IKR! I didn't miss the point. OP is complaining about not being able to speedrun dungeons that take hardly any time to complete in the first place. Banana mechanic in Hullbreaker anyone? Nope, just burn.
You must have a really short attention span if you think these new dungeons are a drag.
Boo hoo, you can still speed run brayflox and get tomes faster than the new dungeons.
I'd tend to agree. I've seen more ragequits over speedruns than any other reason. *shrugs* Personally speaking, I like the fact that you actually have to accomplish objectives a little more involved than "pull everything into a pile and nuke it" in order to proceed in the dungeons. I love all of the new ones. ^^
I thought people were already speedrunning TT and SV? I haven't had much time on since the patch dropped and have only done SV as far as 4-man but it seemed like a SR would be super easy. I don't particularly recall many forced stops between bosses.
And about time they did that! Great job, SE.

Speed runs are the cause of the complaints, but this thread isn't about me wanting Speed Runs to be a thing again. It's that the all the forced stops in the new dungeons are really, really ridiculous. There's just to many.
The forced stops were SE's solution to stopping speed runs, that's why they're in. That is the only reason I bring up speed runs.
With that said, their solution is far too overboard for my taste, it makes the dungeons a boring chore to constantly be stopping for no good reason. Standing around isn't fun.
