Doing this would send out a map-wide shout with the coordinates and 'claim' the mark, giving the announcer full credit when the mark is killed regardless of resets or whatever without needing to trigger the aggro before anyone else arrives. Everyone else would still get credit according to their contribution.
You know you just made a FATE right? XD

What is it? Day 2? 3? It's to be expected that the new shiny content would be overly popular. I think everyone needs to give the content some time to cool off then look at actually changes a month from now. If you start overloading HP now then the NM's might have too much HP when you need to solo them two or three months from now.

Part of the problem is that I think SE underestimated how many players were going to be doing these all at once and almost all of them for the same reward in the end. They assumed Alexandrite is what most people would focus on but it's not. Even still, at 400 marks for alexandrite there is still some grinding involved.

However, once everyone gets their sands (FC member is almost done getting his second, or has it by now), the amount of people doing this will die down.

Personally, I think the best way to fix the hunt.
Is not to simply raise the health on each rank accordingly.
Nor to increase how often they spawn, but do both...and put a timer on the people who get the best amount of stuff.
That resets maybe every hour, or once a day. There are enough of these monsters that you could still get the stuff at a great pace.

I was going to say removes sands and oils, but the 1 week cooldown on purchasing them would probably work just as well. I'd also slash the rewards on hunts you don't have a mark for. It wants to be at a level where it's worth helping out if you're close by but not so awesome that you're willing to drop everything and go to the other side of Eorzea. Numbers would probably still be really high at the start of the week as people get the big reward for the weekly and then grind out the rest for the 1 oil & 1 sand but then it would drop towards the weekend.

Also hand out a small amount of allied seals in Frontlines as a 'see, we're all still friends really' type thing.

That's why she said scale it as needed in real time. Not like FATEs where it scales based on the amount of players that participated in the past FATE but real time. The hunt to have a radius and game calculates how many are around it and gives a buff accordingly.

Of course buffing them by a set amount is a bad idea. A party of 8, the ideal scenario Yoshi had in mind will not be able to kill it and the monster will still be a cakewalk when for some reason there are too many people around. You just cant predict how many will zerg them so a static increase is not going to work. A dynamic one may work though.

Why not simply make Hunts run like Treasure Maps?? Give every hunt a random spawn and limit attacks to the triggering party. Make players search for them like an actual hunt! If you triggered it, you cant trigger another for one week... If I have eight friends, I could essentially run eight S hunts each week, unless I hit up the Party Finder. Seems world spamming and zerg hits are gone this way. just saying.

As it stands now, I am happy leveling my crafters to 50 and completely avoiding hunts much like I do dungeons. You're not playing the game to suit ME comments are excluded from my game play this way...

Go play FFXI if you want FFXI features. I don't see an issue with The Hunt in terms of what has been implemented. What I do see an issue with is half the server expecting people to wait 5-10+ minutes for them to make their way across Eorzea to get 1 attack in, next to zero contribution for everyone involved, and walk away complaining the rewards aren't enough. Either way, that person will not be happy because if you start to early, they and a bunch of other players start getting aggressive and hurling abuse. Or, they just complain that the marks don't have enough HP or they are too easy.

Here are but two incidents where just because whomever pulled didn't wait for the 100th+ person to arrive, abuse and aggression starts (sorry for the large images, not quite sure how to put them into them spoiler drop downs).

Yes, it could seem like another one of those "Ah! The community is so toxic!" Sort of rants but to be honest...I don't really much care what others think or /shout to me but this is pretty abysmal. If I am near a mark, I will wait within reason. I am not waiting for a garrison though. If anyone could please tell me why I should wait long enough for so many people to come along that it ruins my reward, please feel free. As far as I see it, if I am there, I deserve as much as anyone else. So should anyone come to say "because it's the right thing to do!", then why don't they just let me have it? Or the adventurer beside me? People cry out "selfish" to whomever pulls because they didn't get the reward. It's all about them and their reward.

*These aren't colour coded by player. The red ones I have seen as more hostile, blue is more casual discussion/talks about hunts and white is just more general chat.

    Situation 1:

Well at the start you're only going to have a few people around while the rest of the zone/server rush to the fight. Then you're back to square one.

The only real change I see right now is spreading out the weekly between 5 to 10 mobs. That way the entire server isn't trying to get Naul.

    I have a couple suggestions:

    1. Make sands and oils limited to 1 per week. After all, CT limits you to 1 oil and coil you can only get maybe 2. It seems ridiculous to have unlimited amounts.
    2. Make it that once you've killed 1 A/S rank per week, you can not kill it again until the following week. This way everyone gets a chance at every S rank weekly without all the fighting over the same guy over & over.

Or maybe just purchase sands/oil with allied seals?
